Okay, I'm going to be writing about what happened the day characters like Stevie Rae, Damien etc. were marked. If you've read Destined, you'll know Shaunee's story, so obviously I won't be doing her (unless people want me to write about it in detail instead of the short version in the book).

And the House of Night series don't belong to me. If they did, Jack would not be dead...

Stevie Rae POV

It was going to be a normal day. I thought...

I got up at 7am, as usual, got ready for school and headed out side to get in my brother's car. I was the youngest and the only girl in the family; so predictably, I was teased... a lot. Unfortunately, today was going to be one of the worse days for sibling bullying, as I found out as I walked outside to see my oldest brother, Mitch, pulling out of the drive and speeding off down the street. I watched as my other two siblings, the identical twins, Luke and Aiden, stuck their heads out of the windows, shouting and laughing. I fought back tears. My parents were away on a trip to Los Angeles for their anniversary. The guys were in charge, even though I had to cook, clean and tell them to get off their lazy asses to do their homework and chores. So there was no one to give me a lift, and I'd left too late to walk and actually make it to school on time. I half considered turning and going back to bed, but I knew my momma would be furious if she found out I bunked off, and I knew she would find out. I'm a crap liar. And I couldn't trust the boys not to tell.

So as I walked past rows of little wooden houses, I pulled my phone out of my bag and called my BFF, Sophia. It went to voicemail. Her chirpy voice was telling me she'd "call me back as long as I wasn't going to kidnap her". It was a bad joke between us. I left a message explaining what had happened, counting on her to stick up for me when strict Mrs Harris gave me a "talking to". I turned the corner, onto the main street, walking past the butchers and the bakery. I was trying, unsuccessfully, to turn off my crappy hand me down phone my parents had given me when my last one broke, what I liked to call the "Blackberry Brick". It was my Sweet Sixteenth in two weeks though, so I was hoping for a new phone. I would get one. I always got what I wanted. That was the thing that annoyed my brothers the most. I was seemingly perfect in my parent's eyes. The Little Girl could do no wrong. Princess. That's what the guys called me. Spoilt. That's how they described me. But I loved to rub it in their faces sometimes. A brilliant new cell would put their noses right out of joint. They were the reason I needed a new one anyway. Aiden had "accidently" dropped my old IPhone, Luke spilt Brown Pop on it and Mitch was so sorry he had knocked it off the breakfast bar.

I was thinking about the party my parents were going to throw for me when I walked into the lamppost. I swore quietly to myself and rubbed my nose, which had taken the brunt of the collision. There was no blood, thankfully, so I kept walking, now concentrating on my surroundings. The two mile walk was a long, tiring one, and I was glad my parents would be back tonight to stop things like this morning's incident. I didn't know it would be the last time I made the journey to the school where I felt so at home.

I smiled apologetically at the receptionist. She looked down her nose at me like I was something she'd found on her shoe. I quickly grabbed my late slip and hurried up to class, twenty minutes late. I tripped on the stair and hit my knee off the stone. I let out a cry as blood seeped through my white jeans. I slowly pushed myself up and hobbled along to the nurse. The day was not going well. I didn't think it could get any worse. I was wrong...

As I walked out of the nurse's room ten minutes later, class was half over, so I went for a walk around the school. Hopefully someone I knew was either bunking off or had a free period. My school was tiny, but I had a very close group of friends. I'd known most of them since I was tiny, all of our dads worked on the farm just out of town. We'd all met years ago when we were babies because our parents took us to work a lot. Everyone in Henrietta was quite close, except for the Plastics, as we called them (Sophia and I love Mean Girls!). They were total bitches who thought they were better than everyone because they were pretty and had a different boyfriend every week. I hate people like that.

I strolled into the cafeteria, looking round for someone to talk to. I scanned the room, and my gaze landed on Sophia, her boyfriend Harry and his best friend/ my boyfriend Jacob. Jake saw me first and walked over to me. I knew he was skipping class, he was supposed to be in Spanish, but that was the type of guy he was. He only went to classes he like, when he felt like it. He was a bit of a rebel. He used to hang around with the Plastics, but ditched them when he saw how bad they were. But he still messed around in class and hardly ever went, and my parents didn't really like him. But he was still a great guy, and he was smart when he put the effort in. He gave me a hug and asked me where I'd been. I told him the story.

"I'm gonna kill your brothers, they treat you like crap Stevie Rae," He sat down in the uncomfortable plastic seats that every school subjects their pupils to, and motioned for me to sit down too. I pulled a seat over from beside Sophia. When she saw me she pulled out her phone and began texting rapidly. Jake's phone buzzed and when he pulled it out of his pocket he shot Sophia an angry look, and she frowned at him. My look of annoyance must have been quite obvious because Jake mouthed "later".

"Um, not later. What was that?" I asked him. He shook his head.

"Nothing. There's a party at Sam's tonight, you coming?" I wasn't happy at the change of subject, but he looked like he really wanted me to say yes, so I nodded and asked for the details.

"You can bring your brothers if you want, give them a taste of what it's like being on my bad side," He put his arm round my shoulder and whispered in my ear "There's also four rooms at Sam's place, if you know what I'm saying." I know exactly what he was saying, but I acted clueless. I was fifteen and I didn't want to be pressured into stuff I didn't want to do. At the last party some guy supplied drugs, and I'd learned then how to say no. Then I remembered.

"My parent's get back tonight, I can't go," I said. Jake frowned at me.

"So, sneak out at about ten or something, the party'll go on until about three anyway. No big deal if you're a bit late." I nodded. I didn't like sneaking out, but it was better than missing one of the best parties for months. I just needed to get the guys on my side. They'd definitely come if they thought there would be hot girls there, so they would be there tonight. This would be good...

I thought...

The rest of the day was quite good. My classes were fun and I managed to skip Algebra and go down to the only decent shop in the town with Kelsey and get a dress for the party. Kelsey was going for the "I'm desperate" look with a tight red dress and huge heels. I went for a nice pink and black one shoulder dress that did cover my ass.

"So, Mrs Harris was mental this morning when you didn't show up. She was mumbling about how she hated her job and... Well, you know what she's like." I did. Mrs Harris was really strict and hated it when people didn't show up for class without good reason. We talked about our teachers the whole walk back and I had great afternoon , and when we said goodbye at my music class, I know that the fun was only starting.

I couldn't wait until the party, and getting ready seemed to take forever. Our parent's plane was delayed, so they wouldn't get back until about two in the morning, so we went to Sam's early and decided to leave at midnight. I thought I looked quite good, and I hoped Jake thought so too. We got in the car, all of us this time, and drove to Sam's house, just down the road. When we got out I could hear music and cheering. I wasn't a big fan of the music they were playing, but I had learned long ago to block out the rap that most boys listen to. I smiled at Kelsey, who was standing by the door with a can of beer in her hand and a boy next to her. I rolled my eyes and she giggled. I walked through the crowd, trying to find Jake. I hadn't told him I'd be here early, so I'd surprise him when I showed up.

"Stevie Rae!" My best guy friend, Brad, was walking towards me. "I think Jacob is upstairs, bathroom, I think he said," He grinned at me."What are you two planning tonight?" I smacked him and told him something not too polite and hurried up the stairs. I checked every room, looking for my boyfriend. I found him, eventually...

Sophia and Jacob were sitting on the couch in Sam's brother's room, kissing... I cleared my throat and they broke apart. They both looked me in the eye, Jake was trying to speak and Sophia was crying.

"St-Stevie, it's not what it looks like, I just-" I stopped her. I finally understood the text incident from this morning.

"What? What was he doing, cleaning your mouth?" I felt like slapping her. "I'm sure your boyfriend will love to see this..." I ran out of the room crying. Mitch tried to grab me, but he got stuck behind a group of girls trying to flirt with him. I sprinted into the garden and stopped dead. The vampire was tall with black hair and dark green eyes.

"Stevie Rae Johnson. Night has chosen thee; thy death shall be thy birth. Night calls to thee; hearken to Her sweet voice. Your destiny awaits you at the House of Night!" I felt an intense pain, and when I opened my eyes Mitch was leaning over me. I realized I was on the ground and hastily stood up. I turned to see a shocked Sophia standing at the door, her mouth hanging open, eyes wide.

"Stevie Rae, he marked you. No, you can't go, you can't leave!" She was crying hard now, and despite what she'd done, I felt a bit sorry for her. I was her BFF, and tonight had probably ruined our friendship.

"Soph, I have to..." I broke off as I realized that I was going to have to go. Give up everything. Mitch grabbed my arm and looked me in the eye.

"This is bad. I'm going to get the guys and we'll go home." He ran off, leaving me standing in the garden with a crying Sophia and a killer headache. I coughed. Then it hit me. I would die if I didn't get to the House of Night...

It was half one in the morning. I was sitting in my room, coughing my head off, too distracted to pack. My parents would be home soon, and I would start my new life. I was trying not to cry. I heard the front door open and I listened as my mom laughed at something my dad said. I stifled a sob, I would miss that laugh. I heard her shouting at the boys for being up too late, and then prepared myself as five sets of footsteps ran up the stairs. My door burst open and my momma stopped.

"Oh, baby! Are you okay? No, of course you're not!" She was smothering me and another cough racked my body and she let go. "You need to get to the House of Night. Now." She started to grab random things and shoving them in bags. My dad looked angry and I put my arms out for a hug. My brothers joined in the group hug and we stayed like that until we were ready to leave...

Ok, that was Stevie Rae's chapter. Bit long, but who's caring? So I'll probably do Damien next, then Erin. If you want be to do Shaunee's in more detail than it was in the book, Say in the reviews. Reviews mean happiness and updates. Also, suggest minor characters for me to do, Dallas, Kramisha etc. I'll try do them

Reviews! I would love them!
