Differences

She hated eating in the Great Hall because of the fact that everyone watched you while you were eating. She always felt that people were looking at her, judging her, finding all her little faults as she walked past, as she worked, whenever she did anything.

It made her feel extremely nervous. She hated when the spotlight was on her especially when she knew more about a particular subject than the other Ravenclaws and they all looked to her to explain. Every time that happened, she could feel her ears heat up in embarrassment so she had taken to never doing her best so that she was not asked. She was terrified of making mistakes in front of other people that they could call her up on.

She hated making mistakes or looking foolish so she kept to herself and barely ever talked. If she did that, the possibility of her embarrassing herself was greatly reduced that did not help when she was called upon by one of the professors to answer a question in class, she could almost her heart pounding as it threw itself against her sternum whenever that happened. Her clothing always felt far too warm when she answered and her mind always expected laughter. She sometimes noticed her hands shaking slightly whenever she glanced at them afterwards in an attempt at calming herself.

She heard laughter and stiffened slightly before she turned to look at who was laughing. There were a couple of Hufflepuffs laughing nearby and she could feel her face heat up in embarrassment. Her sister was laughing at something with her friends in the Gryffindor table. Parvati caught her eye and waved cheerfully, she waved back with less enthusiasm than her sister showed.

She wondered how her twin was able to speak and behave as freely as she did among the Gryffindors. Parvati was able to laugh and joke without being able to feel the embarrassment and terror she felt every time she talked with someone despite how much she attempted to hide it. She hoped no one realized it but she was sure many of them did.

She dreaded the coming Yule Ball especially since she would be expected to attend the ball with her sister. She would be expected to interact with other people in her year and the years above her. That was not going to go well, such things never did in her experience.
