I haven't written a Fanfiction in awhile and I just recently saw the episode where Sam was married to Becky and this idea popped into my head. Hope you like!

Settle Down

Dean sat on the barstool taking a swig of the bottle of beer in front of him. He let the contents slide and burn all the way down. Alchohol always seemed to satisfy him, for a little while anyway.

"What the hell was Sam thinking getting married?" Dean muttered to himself.

He and Sam were married to their job and that was it. Dean tried to picture himself at his own wedding, but the idea was too ridiculous to stick. He laid a five-dollar bill on the counter, jammed his hands in the pockets of his jacket, and exited the bar.

Dean actually tried to get some sleep in the dim motel room, but the idea of him actually getting married had found its way back inside his head. Who could he picture realistically settling down with? Dean's first thought was Lisa, but the fantasy of being a husband and a father had died a long time ago. He quickly shook off the concept as sorrow and grief threatened to stir inside of him. Marriage was overrated anyway.

The next person who came to mind surprised Dean a little. Jo Harvelle. Yeah, like Ellen would've let her little girl marry someone like him. All of a sudden, the scene was embedded in Dean's mind. The church was small but elegant. Sunlight shone through the windows and kissed the altar, bathing every third pew in light. Castiel stood at the altar. A real angel was better than any priest or other religious person. The church was empty except for Sam, Ellen, and Bobby in the front row. Dean became a part of the scene. He could feel the sun's rays hitting his skin and the unfamiliar sense of the tuxedo he was sporting. And then Jo was in the doorway.

She was so beautiful. Dean couldn't find words. Her hair was pinned up except for two spiraled strands that curtained the sides of her face. Her eyes were full of life and vibrance, they were beginning to brim with tears. She was wearing an elegant, gorgeous, strapless white gown with floral accents. Tears dangerously pricked at the corners of Dean's eyes. She glided doen the aisle with such grace, it took Dean's breath away. When she reached him, Dean felt more terrified than he ever had on any hunt. Why hadn't anyone told him his wedding day would be so damn scary?

Dean's palms were sweating and his mouth was drying up. So he could face Lucifer himself, but he couldn't face Jo without going weak in the knees. The procession began and Dean's heart was racing. Suddenly his nervous terror turned into nothing more than anxious wedding jitters. He was completely zoned into Castiel and Jo. The vows, rings sliding over fingers, Jo not being patient enough to wait for permission for Dean to kiss her. It all felt so real. But of course it wasn't reality.

"I love you Jo Harvelle." Dean found himself speaking into the empty room.

Even though no one else was in the room, Dean could've sworn that he faintly heard in reply,"I love you Dean Winchester."

Hopefully you enjoyed it as much as I liked writing it. I just love Dean and Jo! Thank you to any and all readers!
