I want to be a beta-reader. I need at least five stories or 6,000 words. I can't write well so here's the second story.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

Summary: Bella has a dream about Edward and herself when she's still living in Phoenix.

BPOV

The couple turned and looked at me.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I jerked awake, breathing hard. I was confused to see my bedroom walls and my alarm clock instead of the trees and the couple in the meadow. I turned off my alarm clock and lay back in bed thinking about my dream. It felt very real but I didn't have time to dwell on it, I couldn't be late for school. I got out of bed and grabbed some clothes before heading for the shower. Under the hot water the details of the dream started to fade. I shook it off and finished my shower.

I got dressed and threw my hair up in a messy bun; I'd dry it after breakfast. I headed downstairs to make breakfast before Mom got too bored and decided to make peanut butter omelets or something equally poisonous.

I made a big pan of scrambled eggs so Mom and Phil would have something to eat. I was putting the dishes on the table as the toast popped and Mom and Phil walked into the kitchen. We sat down and started eating. Phil looked half asleep still, but Mom was clearly awake and by the look in her eyes she was dying to ask me something.

Hoping to save myself from at least some of the questioning I mentioned needing to leave a little early for school; claiming I needed to finish a partner project for English. Phil nodded; still trying to wake up, Mom said that would be fine.

We ate in silence for a few minutes.

Mom tried to look nonchalant as she asked me how I'd slept, but I could hear the curiosity in her voice. I told her I had slept fine; the dream I'd had wasn't a nightmare or anything. I asked her why she wanted to know. She pushed her food around her plate as she told me how she had heard me calling out Edward in my sleep.

The boy from the meadow flashed into my mind.

Edward.

Somehow I knew that was his name.

I told myself to get a grip. The people in my dream were imaginary, they didn't have names. It was absurd to think I knew that his name was Edward; I had definitely never met him. And even if they were real why on earth would the boy's name be Edward. No one named their kids Edward anymore.

I came back to the table when Mom started talking again; I guess I'd spaced out too long. She was asking me if this Edward was a boy I liked.

I told her no, I didn't know anyone named Edward; I didn't even remember calling out the name. She looked a little disappointed, but let it go.

I finished my breakfast in a hurry, trying to get out of the kitchen before she decided to ask me anymore questions. I put my plate in the sink, kissed the top of Mom's head, and hurried up the stairs to get my bag and headed out the door for the bus. I was lucky one of the stops was near my neighborhood since almost everyone at my predominantly rich kid school had a car.

All through school I couldn't get Edward's – the boy from my dream's face out of my mind. My few friends didn't really notice and I made it home without any questions about my daydreaming. I made dinner, chicken stir-fry with vegetables. It was just Mom and I tonight Phil had a game in Tucson and wouldn't be back until late tonight.

I told Mom that I was going to head up to bed early, citing my early departure as my reason. We said good night and I went upstairs. I changed into my pajamas; half hoping I would have the dream again tonight. I wanted to see Edward much more than I should.

I turned my lights off, climbed into bed and fell asleep thinking of Edward.

I found myself in the forest again looking at the couple in the meadow as they turned to look at me.
