Chopin-

"What the-" There was music. Beautiful music emanating from the room he shared with his partner in Akatsuki, Sasori. Deidara wasn't sure, but he was fairly positive that it was "classical". He never found music to be that fantastic, but Sasori seemed to love it. So did Itachi, for that matter. They actually discussed it now and then, but he never understood all the terminology. Although…standing here, he had to admit to its beauty. To tell the truth, he sometimes wished that Sasori would explain more of it to him, but he couldn't bring himself to ask. Besides, what would his partner think of him then?

Suddenly, Itachi was standing next to him. Deidara had always hated the way the Sharingan wielder seemed able to blink into existence at the most inopportune moments. "Ah. This seems to be his favorite. He's very good at it now, too." Thus said the aforementioned Uchiha. Deidara knew Itachi well enough to know that the raven-haired teen wouldn't laugh, so he cautiously asked "What is this piece? And did you say he's..." "Yes," replied Itachi, "Sasori is playing right now. Didn't you ever notice the piano?" Deidara stared in shock. He had never noticed such a large thing, and even Itachi, who had only entered their room once before had?

"Well, to answer your question…I think I'll turn this over to the artist himself." Itachi said softly as Sasori strode out of the room casually, as if he didn't care that he'd had a secret audience. The reality was, though, that while he did play for the amusement of the Uchiha as well as himself, he had no idea Deidara enjoyed classical music at all, much less Chopin. It didn't seem typical for the explosives artist to take an interest in such things. Sasori began to kick himself mentally for not noticing his partner's interest before. 'You are such an idiot, Sasori. He's probably too afraid to ask. For heaven's sake, he's only 17. Don't forget, your presence is rather daunting…well, your appearance is. And you always put up a tough front so that he won't have any idea how emotional you still are.'

"Hey, Deidara, may I speak with you for a moment? Preferably privately, if we may, Itachi." Itachi gave a thin smile, and walked away silently. Deidara couldn't breathe. He was so sure that Sasori would scold him for being too inquisitive or something of that nature. Instead, after entering the room, the redhead motioned for Deidara to sit on his bed as he sat at the piano. He began to play again, and after a few seconds, asked softy, "Why, Deidara? Why didn't you tell me you liked this piece?" Deidara seemed to consider this for a while, and replied "I thought that if I did, you would think poorly of me." At this, Sasori could only try to keep his hands steady as he kept playing. He could feel tears well up, and did his best to blink them away so they would not ruin the lovely ivory keys.

Suddenly, he felt he could no longer hold it in, and did not attempt to. "Deidara…" Sasori began uncertainly, but continued, "If you are interested in music, please tell me. I really do want you to be happy, and if classical music is what makes you happy, I'll play it all day for you. You are my precious friend, and my partner." Deidara looked shocked for a moment, but his expression quickly changed to a mixture of joy and relief. "Then, what is the name of this piece?" At this, Sasori smiled, genuinely. "This is called Nocturne no.2 in E flat major Op.9-2." He said softly as he played the final notes. Deidara smiled again, and knew that this song would always carry precious memories.
