I guess this could be an add on to the story Coulrophobia. I was sitting out on the sun on the cricket pitch at school revising with my friends for my geography exam when one of them stood up and starting stamping about, turned out there were a load of spiders around and they hate spiders. This is the result since I think it would be funny if O'Neill was scared of something as small as spiders.
Enjoy :)
"CARTER!"
Carter bolted up right at the hell from her commanding officer. Rubbing sleep from her eyes she turned on her side and asked, "Sir?" she noticed hoe stiffly he was sitting and sat up, "What's wrong."
O'Neill tilted his head forward, not taking his eyes off whatever it was he was looking at. Following his gaze, wondering whatever it was that was scaring him so much. On the wall of the tent sat a, "Sir it's a spider."
"Yes Carter, now get rid of it," O'Neill said, still not looking away from where the spider sat on the tent inner.
Shaking her head in confusion Carter unzipped her sleeping bag and got out before leaning forward and nudging the spider into her hands. Once the spider was on her palm she cupped her hands and turned to her CO, "Can you open the door please Sir."
O'Neill nodded and unzipped the door. Getting onto her knees Carter shuffled forwards and went into the porch of the tent, then reaching under the door flap let the spider go. Brushing her hands together she turned and looked at O'Neill. "Are you really that scared of spiders?"
O'Neill nodded, "Ever since I was a kid spiders seem to gravitate towards me and when I was a little I woke up one too many times with a spider on my pillow or on my face and now they just give me the hebbie jebbies."
"The hebbie jebbies Sir?" Carter asked with a smirk.
O'Neill smiled at her, "Yes Carter the hebbie jebbies."
Carter laughed then said, "You know their probably more scared of you right?"
O'Neill raised his eyebrow, doing an amazing impression of Teal'c, "I'm not a child Carter, I know full well that can't do anything to me but it still doesn't help."
Shaking her head and smiling at her CO Carter said, "What a pair we make, we face torture and fear of death on a regular basis and I'm scared of clowns and you're scared of spiders. I wonder what Daniel and Teal'c are scared of."
O'Neill shrugged, "No idea Carter, but it should be fun to find out."
Laughing quietly again Carter slipped back into her sleeping bag and zipped it back up, "Night Sir, make sure the spiders don't bite."
"Funny Carter," O'Neill said, shifting so he was lying down again.
Carter giggled and O'Neill smiled, "No giggling Major."
"Yes Sir," Carter answered, before turning her back to O'Neill and falling asleep.
Watching her sleep and feeling sleep creeping up on him O'Neill smiled, what a pair indeed.
