A really old guy had said that forbidden fruit always tasted sweeter. Or something along those lines. He was supposedly referring to that old metaphor of a tale about Adam, Eve, a snake and something forbidden.
Of course, seeing as the story that inspired his famous and somewhat cliché quote isn't much more than a metaphor, it doesn't necessarily have to be about its suggested characters. Adam and Eve could be any two humans, the snake didn't have to be an animal, and the forbidden fruit could be anything it wanted to be. So let's say, for the purpose of my story, that Adam was called Athrun, Eve known as Cagalli, the snake was Yuuna and that the forbidden delicacy was a simple kiss.
This story starts with a kiss in an office. It's a crazy, passionate, spur of the moment kiss that really shouldn't be happening. Cagalli's office is the wrong the place for make-out sessions at any time of the day. But she and Athrun don't really care about stupid, unwritten rules like that one; their current embrace is much more important.
That is until Yuuna Roma Serian, the snake himself, pops his inflated yet empty head into said office. Suddenly, every rule, every code of conduct that they know of goes back into play as Cagalli transforms into the Head Representative of Orb and Athrun into Alex Dino, her bodyguard.
"What is it?" Cagalli asks him, annoyed.
Yuuna talks politics while both young lovers play their assigned roles. Cagalli, as head of the nation, pretends to pay attention to the crap her (ugh!) finance has to say and Athrun, as Alex Dino, pretends to not listen because he, as nothing more than a simple bodyguard, has no right to meddle in matter of the state. The whole time, the two of them exchange frequent glances which one could translate as a silent conversation.
Finally, Yuuna leaves saying he'll be back in no more than five minutes. Before he has even made it out the door, Athrun and Cagalli have jumped on the forbidden fruit and are now enjoying a savory kiss, one that is made all the more sweeter with the knowledge that it will have end soon –when the snake returns.
But for now, this story ends the way it started, with a kiss in an office and the taste of forbidden fruit.
