Hermione weaved in and out of the waiters and guests attending Slughorn's party, having just escaped McLaggen. She desperately looked around the crowded room for a place to hide. It was a childish thing, hiding from her 'date,' but she couldn't stand McLaggen one more minute. He had less manners than a house elf and made Grawp seem like a gentleman.

She noticed a dark and deserted corridor on her right side and immediately began walking towards it. As she reached it she turned around to see where McLaggen was and saw that he was talking to Harry. Probably trying to find out where I am, she thought irritably. When she saw Harry lead McLaggen the wrong way, she sighed in relief. She had escaped from McLaggen, if only for the time being.

She hid in the shadows for a while and waited until it was safe. She was ready to leave, but before she couldn't even step one foot out of the corridor someone ran into her. It really was quite rude and she couldn't control herself from saying; "Watch where y-" her voice trailed off when she saw who had walked into her. Ron. "Ron? What are you-"

"Shhh!" He hissed, she hadn't noticed that her voice had risen. "If you want to know what I'm doing here, I'm hiding from Lavender! You can't even have a real conversation with her until she starts sno-" he stopped when he saw Hermione's expression and quickly changed the topic.

"Well, now that you know why I'm here, what are you doing here, Hermione?" He asked. "McLaggen," she answered. That one word answered everything and Ron smiled and nodded knowingly. "Figures, he can't even tell the difference between a bloody spoon and a fo-"

"Ronald," She hissed. "Language please!" He gave her a sheepish smile. "Sorry," he said softly. That's when she noticed how close they were, they hadn't been this close since their hug in third year. Ron seemed to know this also, for he took a small step forward, closing the space between them. Their lips were inches from each others. "Ron, I-" Ron cut her off my grazing lips against hers. Her mind was going a million miles an hour, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Ron seemed to know what he had done and immediately began apologizing. "Sorry, I don't know what I wa-" Hermione stopped him by kissing him, this time more passionately. When Hermione pulled back, Ron rested his forehead on hers.

Suddenly he looked up and asked something that she'd been waiting a lifetime to hear. "Hermione, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course," She breathed. Ron's eyes lit up as if he was seeing color for the first time and took her hand in his. They both walked out and they were planning a slow song. "May I have this dance?" Ron and Hermione danced until Slughorn's party ended and they walked back to the Common Room hand in hand, ignoring the stares and giggles. Even though Hermione and Ron didn't go to the party with who they wanted, it ended up being bloody brilliant, all thanks to McLaggen.

A/N: Sorry it's a bit short! I got the idea and I had to write it down! I think I might write a second chapter in Ron's POV. Then maybe a Harry and Ginny version, one chapter in Harry's POV and one in Ginny's. Please, take the time and tell me what you thought of it! Thanks for reading.
