The Story
First off...what I'm going to say is that this story that I am about to write is very precious to me, which is why I am going to write it. It is about Timothy Thiel and me, Kandis Speirs encountering a love filled with the dramatic separation; that of a long distance relationship and a precious summer at BYU, Provo where they first met. Something happened between these two people that changed there lives...it was indeed love.
It was the summer or 2006. The first week of E.F.Y. at BYU, Provo, Utah was starting up on May and Kandis Speirs arrived there already telling herself to not fall for a boy this year. For the year prior, in Thatcher, Arizona she fell for a boy. James Mackey was the name. It was a tragic ending when he stopped calling her. So Kandis was determined to not do this again to herself. The past year was a depressing year that made her miserable beyond measure. In order to prevent this from ever happening again...she promised herself that she wouldn't get close to a boy at E.F.Y. this year. That was her mind set...and she was determined to keep her promise to herself. But that changed quite quickly for the young lass.
It was the third day from the six days of being at the camp. There was free time during the day and Kandis and her two friends were walking around to all the dorms...looking for a pool table open or a foosball table that was available. They succeeded to the one in "U Hall." There was a foosball table with two boys doing there thing. Meaning two other spaces were open for two other people to play. Kandis and only one of her friends Jennifer went over to ask the two boys if they could play with them.
They introduced themselves; the two boys being Tim and Trevor. Tim being about 5'11, very thin, brown military cut hair, and a pleasant look. Trevor being about 5'5 maybe, blond hair, sharp eyes that almost jabbed you when he looked at you, his muscles were very defined, and looked somewhat awkward.
Once the four were all introduced, their game of foosball began. Kandis and Jennifer won the game 10-6. Trevor wanted to play just Jennifer...and she won. The two girls were quite proud of themselves for winning this game to some boys.
At this time it was time for dinner. So the boys being cordial, or just flirty, asked Kandis and Jennifer if they would want to eat dinner with them. They accepted happily. They went to get Amanda who had run off, and they were off.
In line for dinner, Trevor, Tim, and Jennifer were mostly the ones that were talking. Kandis and Amanda just somewhat stood there and since they weren't really being included on this conversation they decided to talk amongst themselves.
Tim retrieved a tray for Kandis then Amanda, Trevor getting one for Jenn at the same time. Kandis wasn't really hungry at the time. She had eaten a pop tart with Amanda just prior to the foosball game. But when the gentlemanlike action came from this guy, she changed her mind.
They eventually came to the tables set about the cafeteria. They laughed and talked; Jenn and Trevor keeping to themselves while Kandis and Amanda conversed with Tim.
