AN: Another one sitting on my computer for months. I hope you like it. EDIT: I noticed a HUUUUUUUUUGE timeline error. It is now fixed. This was from when I watching the ending a bunch so I forgot Hei joined at the begining of the series. But I know that now of course after watching it 4 or 5 times.

Yin sat in the spare room behind the tobacco shop. Mao was in her lap purring as she stroked him. Huang had the window open and was smoking. They were going to meet their new teammate today. He was supposed to be famous; he had earned the title "The Black Reaper" after all. Yin had been told he was in the South American war. Wasn't that when the Heaven's gate disappeared? Maybe he had been connected some how?

Huang shifted and put out his cigarette. "He's here." He mumbled. Mao stretched and jued out of Yin's lap. Mao flung his tail back and forth. Yin stood up and heard someone trying to open the door.

"I wonder what he'll be like." Mao said with a small smile. Huang huffed. "Like a contractor. He'll be a cold blooded murderer." Mao looked over at Huang who looked away. Yin noticed Huang's dislike for contractors right away. She wondered why he had such disdain for them.

Yin turned her head in the direction of her new teammate's footsteps. Hei had finally made his way into the room. Hei looked at his new team with cold and tired eyes. He had just lost his sister and his old team… who wouldn't feel worn out?

Hunag spoke first. "You Hei?" He asked gruffly.

"Yes."Hei said calmly. Mao perked up. "Nice to meet you Hei. I'm Mao. I'm a contractor as well." Hei just nodded at the talking cat. It certainly wasn't the strangest thing he has seen.

"I'm Huang. I'm the Syndicate's associate. You'll be getting all your orders from me." Huang straightened his back and tried to look tall.

Hei looked over at Yin wondering why she wasn't looking at him. He figured she must be the team's doll but was she scared? No, dolls don't have emotions; it must be something else…

"I'm Yin. I hope not to be a burden." Yin said monotonously and gave a little bow. Hei looked away from her. Yin looked away as well. She couldn't see her new teammate but his voice didn't sound bad, she could hear sadness, pain and loss in it. She wondered why.

Huang went over to Hei and put a hand on his back. "Come on. I'll show you where you'll be staying."

"Have a nice day… Hei." Yin said as she heard them start to move. She didn't know why she said it. Maybe it was the sadness in Hei's voice.

Hei looked back and glared a little but then calmed down. "Thank you." He said before Huang pushed him out the door. "Come on Contractor." He said sounding a little annoyed.

AN: 'I hope not to be a burden' is something you say in Japanese when you are joing a group or team. It can also be translated as 'Please take care of me' but I wanted it to be neutral and thought that sounds to intimate in English.
