The Change in Her Eyes

Summary: Takes place after "Our Secrets"…What happens when Akito can change Yume's thoughts? What if he plans to convince herself to kill herself? And why is afraid to let Yin and Yang come together? What is the secret Yang and Yin keep from each other?
Notes: This is a multi-chaptered One-Shot ("Oh my f-ing god! A chaptered one-shot!")
Prologue: The Rat, the God, and the Cat's Bet
"If you can beat the Rat before you graduate High School…I will grant you a place in the Zodiac. You may not be the rat but a new animal…a stronger animal." The God purred sinisterly, stroking the orange-haired boy's cheek. He felt the Monster tremble beneath his pale fingers and he couldn't help but smile. The boy was so easy to manipulate.
"W-What if I can't?" came the frightened whisper.
"Then you shall die in the room prepared for you as every other Cat before you has done."
Kyo trembled, his crimson eyes widening.
"Now…my precious Rat…come forward." The God chuckled, clutching onto Kyo's shoulders as if comforting the poor feline. Yuki kept his soft violet eyes downcast as he approached the God.
"This is my bet to you…If you can convince our lovely Yin to hate our hideous witch Yang…I shall allow you to control yourself and your life, without Sohma interference including my own."
Yuki's eyes prickled with tears. Take Hitomi from Yume? Yume would be heartbroken. She wouldn't be able to survive without her sister.
But…
The thought of freedom excited Yuki and he thought of all the hopes he had in his heart- the hope to love, the hope to heal…
Yuki lifted his head, glancing into the God's dark eyes. Yume would learn to forget, won't she? She would move on someday…
"I will do it."
"Thank you, my precious Rat. That is all."
The God smiled softly, a true smile, and leaned her head against the Cat's soft orange mop.
"And the bet for myself is…" Akito whispered, eyes glistening with breath-catching malice.
Is to rid myself of that witch once and for all.
Or grant her a wish…Anything her heart desires.
Shadow: This was just an idea that snuck up on me as I read Sammy-channy's view of "Our Secrets" and her Prince of Tennis story. I hope to get it to at least five chapters! Hope you enjoy it!
