Though men now possess the power to dominate and exploit every corner of the natural world, nothing in that fact implies that they have the right or the need to do so. - Edward Abbey
The History Of The Mouse
Mickey and Minnie had met the day of shooting Plane Crazy, May 15, 1928. It was a rocky start he was too cocky and she a simple farm girl. She auditioned for the part to help out her family but Walt saw more.
They started dating secretly right after the filming of steamboat Willie, "I knew that one would make him, he knew it too. There was a little tiff between us about it, that I was only dating him so I could be famous, but the fame did get me so much, back then at least. For him it was just the beginning."
In June 26, 1929 they announced their relationship to the public, with the song Minnie's Yoo Hoo.
Minnie and Mickey were married May 15, 1929 but that was only in their private lives, in public they were dating, mostly it depended on what the skit or episode called for.
No ever promised them the happily ever after, they had a normal relationship, ups and downs.
After Walt died in 1966 things began to change, he stipulated in his will that Mickey would take his place as the sole proprietor of the Disney Corporation. This take over lead to many successful movies, long running shows and musicals on Broadway.
Things took a change for the better or worse in 2005; this year marked the 50th anniversary of the opening of Disneyland and the surprising revelation of many things.
This is just the preamble. More coming shortly.
