Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Percy and the Oil Painting" from Season 9. Enjoy and comment.

The Island of Sodor is a very special place. There are lots of sights to be seen.

All of the engines on Sir Topham Hatt's railway enjoy seeing all the sights of Sodor.

One morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds. He had big news.

"The mayor has invited a special painter to paint a picture here on Sodor." he boomed. "It will be called "The Spirit of Sodor" It will be displayed at Knapford Station."

The engines were excited.

"Percy, you must collect the painter at Brendam Docks, and show him all the sights of Sodor."

"Yes sir!" said Percy.

Thomas was excited for Percy, but Percy was worried.

"What should I do?" asked Percy.

"Show the painter everything that is special about Sodor." said Thomas.

"But you know Sodor better than anyone else."

"And nobody loves Sodor as much as you do! You're the perfect engine for the job!"

Percy felt better. He knew a perfect place to show the painter, someplace very special.

When Percy arrived at Brendam Docks, there were lots of people there.

Everyone wanted to see the famous painter.

The painter had came all prepared.

Percy thought he looked important.

The painter climbed on-board Percy.

"I want to see all the sights of Sodor!" he said. "Please show me somewhere special."

"Yes sir!" puffed Percy as he steamed away.

Percy puffed across Sodor, thinking about a special place.

At last, he made it to Shen Valley. It was very beautiful,

"Here we are sir!" called Percy. "This is a special sight of Sodor!"

The painter looked at the valley for a very long time.

"I don't like it!" he cried. "I want to see somewhere special!"

Percy was surprised. He thought Shen Valley was very special.

"Maybe Shen Valley isn't that special." thought Percy to himself.

Percy set off again.

Then, Percy arrived at Norramby Beach. It was sunny and nice.

Children were playing in the sand, and there was even a donkey giving rides.

Percy was sure the famous artist would want to paint here.

"Here we are sir! This is a special sight of Sodor!"

The painter looked around.

"The sand is too yellow!" he sighed. "I want you to show me somewhere special!"

Now Percy was upset. He thought Norramby Beach was the happiest place on Sodor.

Percy knew the artist was wrong, but he set off once more.

Percy took the artist to the viaduct, but the artist thought it was too tall.

Then, Percy took the artist to the windmill, but the artist thought it was too round.

Finally, Percy took the artist to Knapford Station. There was lots of engines and people there.

"This is a special sight!" he said proudly.

"It's too busy!" called the painter. "I want something to paint here on Sodor!"

Percy was now beyond, and I mean BEYOND cross,

He was so cross, that he blew steam at the painter!

The painter's hat flew into the air!

Now the painter was beyond, and I mean BEYOND cross too.

"You are one naughty engine!" he shouted. "I will report you to Sir Topham Hatt immediately!"

Percy knew he would soon be in big trouble.

Sir Topham Hatt soon arrived.

But to Percy's surprise, he wasn't cross, and so wasn't the painter!

"I have found something special to paint!" cried the artist.

"What is it?" asked Sir Topham Hatt.

"I am going to paint Percy!"

Percy was surprised.

"Bust my buffers!" he exclaimed. "You want to paint me?"

"Percy is a really useful engine, and is the spirit of Sodor!"

Sir Topham Hatt agreed.

And so, the famous artist painted Percy.

All the engines came to see the grand unveiling of the painting.

When the painting was revealed, everyone clapped and cheered!

"You really are the spirit of Sodor!" said Thomas.

Percy couldn't have been more proud. He was delighted to be the spirit of Sodor!
