I have shipped these two from the beginning of watching the show. I just wanted to write something about them. Don't know how much I'm going to do, if it's a one time thing or multiple chapters. Enjoy!
All she could think about was him. Why hasn't he just told her how he feels? Why can't he just open up to her and let it all out. There was so much tension between them. She could be herself around him, laugh, and cry, it didn't matter. She hadn't felt that way with someone in a very long time, seeing as if she would open her mouth to Ed about her feelings it would result in a beating.
She constantly put herself out there, waiting for the moment when he'd actually open his eyes and realize. Putting on her boots, she muttered to herself "am I not good enough?" Carol sat there on the cold, hard jail cell "bed" for a minute, thinking about all the things she wanted to say to him. She stood up and thought about it. Will she ever be able to say these things to him?
Carol got up and walked out of the cell and left C block. The first person she notices is him. Daryl Dixon. The man of her dreams and all she wants in this crazy world she's living in now. Walking up to him nervously with butterflies in her stomach, she asks "Whatcha got there?"
Sitting on a step, whittling some sticks. He looks up at her and smiles. "Just making some arrows so I have enough for the run. How ya' doing?" he says.
"I'm okay I guess, just waking up. Feeling kinda shitty today. Who else is going on the run?" Carol says, holding herself at her hips. All she wants is to talk about something else other than anything having to do with this damn apocalypse.
"Rick, Glenn and Maggie. And myself, of course. Ha, there's nothing for me to do here anyway. It's pretty boring." Says Daryl with a chuckle.
Carol looks around, a little angered because she's not getting what she wants. She won't come out and just say it. She's too nervous to tell him. She's ready to end the conversation. "Yeah I guess you're right. Be safe out there." She stammers. She gets a few steps away.
"Hey Carol, I found something for you while I was out there yesterday." He blurts out. Taking a Cherokee rose out of his satchel, and reaching out to give it to her. "It was just too beautiful to leave there, I thought of you when I saw it. Here." He says.
Carol looks at Daryl, taking the flower out of his hands. "Thank you, I appreciate it. Now you be safe out there!" Carol says trying to seem nonchalant about his gesture. She turns around going back to her cell with a smirk on her face. "Not exactly what I wanted, but it's a start" she says to herself in her head.
Filling up a cup of water, she places the flower into it and sets it down on the table across from her bed. Staring at it while she's smiling and blushing. Maggie walks past and sees her, "Hey what's up, you look happy today" Maggie asks with a smile on her face.
Carol not taking her eyes off the flower answers Maggie with, "I realized there actually is beauty left in this hell hole of a world."
AN: And there it is :D I'm pretty happy with it. I tried to keep it somewhat of how Daryl and Carol act with each other but I don't know. Let me know how you feel about it! I'll accept it all, good or bad. If you want me to write more about their story, let me know as well. Faves and follows are excepted :3
