Silent experiences: part 1
The air held a chill that sucked the breath from my chest as we stood at the sign. "So, who wants to go first?" I ask, desperate for someone else to speak up. The other two grimaced and shuffled their feet a bit. "fine." Hefting my rifle I begin walking to the right, closely followed by my two companions.
We were already behind after all, no sense in waiting around. The morning had been rather normal up until the sign had appeared, but I'm getting ahead of myself *sigh* let me start from the beginning…
Chapter 1: Choices
I woke to a chilly morning in Florida, now that I think about it, which should have been a warning. The bus arrived on time and I rode to school, laughing with friends over homework and commiserating over a recent test. The buses arrived and we piled out, invading the cafeteria and library alike. Twenty minutes later I found myself wrapped in the jacket of my best friend staring at a photo and arguing over a fanfiction concept. "This is completely justified!" cat yelled getting in my face for emphasis "how?!" I ask "because it just is." Kadin's calm voice cuts in silencing the argument. "Now here's how this is going to happen" she continued "cat, you're going to lead and write the raccoon city half. Chris, you're taking the silent hill half." At this the rest of the group began arguing plot points. Sighing I turned to leave "fine if I'm writing this story I better get started." "Ok then." Cat said watching me leave.
The outer library was deserted as I made my way to the door. The bell rung as I reached the door, and my friends rushed out behind me…only one problem, we weren't in the school courtyard anymore.
Turning back to the door I was unsurprised to find that the library had been replaced with a fog riddled road ending in a bare cliff face. Turning to cat I got mad "see! This is why you don't discuss plot and novel ideas out loud ANYWHERE near the LIBRARY of all places!" Reacting in reflex cat yelled back "well shut up! You were talking about it too!" Garret grabbed my should and said something "what?" silently he pointed. There it stood the sign that started it all, just as if it had always stood there. The sign resembled those huge interstate exit signs, but mounted on a tree of all things! The sign simply stated,
Raccoon City: 2.5 miles North West
Silent Hill Sanatorium: 1.6 miles north east
Staring at the sign I felt the blood drain from my face. "So, what now?" I asked the fog. "Well, we could stick with the groups we decided on for the stories." Cat said hesitantly "ok then" I said clapping my hands "Who wants to go for a walk in the creepy ass town?" I say cheerfully
