Sorry I had a little trouble with uploading this story…my bad! Here's the whole thing

Natasha closed the door and turned around. Clint patted the space next to him on the bed.

"Let's talk." Natasha nodded. She tried to mask the fear in her eyes as she curled up next to him but he saw it anyway. A knot formed in his stomach because he knew how much it took to scare her.

"We're gonna fix this Tasha." He whispered.

"How?" She looked up at him. " I don't have a choice. Fury is sending me."

"We can tell him you aren't well or we can-" Clint stopped when he saw Natasha shaking her head.

"Fury knows I won't bow out because I'm sick." Clint snapped his head toward her.

"Dammit Nat don't you dare give up! I am not going to let them send you on a suicide mission! I will go in your place if that's what it takes to keep you here!"

"No." Natasha's face turned deadly. "You're not going. I don't care what you think you can do, I will tell Coulson-" The door opened very suddenly.

"Talking about me?" Coulson smiled and poked his head in. "All good things I hope." He eyed their expressions and his grin melted. "Evidently not." He stepped in and shut the door behind him. Natasha pushed herself away from Clint and Clint folded his arms. The silence thickened uncomfortably as the three of them looked everywhere but at each other. "So do you want to talk about it?" Natasha shook her head, but Clint said,

"Sir, you can't let Fury send her on this mission. It's going to get her killed, sir. You can send me-"

"No." Natasha was just as firm as she had been before and her emerald eyes bored into Coulson's. "You can't send him. That's not an option." Clint glared at her and opened his mouth to say something but Coulson held up a hand to stop him.

"I know." The look on his face when he glanced over to Natasha said that he felt a lot like Clint did. "I already talked to Fury."

"And?" Clint raised his eyebrows.

"He's reconsidering." Clint slumped with relief. "But he doesn't want to." Coulson's tone was full of warning. "As of right now you are still in the mission Natasha." Clint went rigid again but Natasha nodded. Coulson looked at her with words in his eyes that he couldn't say. "I'll leave you two alone again." He stood and left the pair to themselves.

"You have to let me go Clint." She spoke softly and wouldn't meet his eyes.

"Like hell I do." He gritted his teeth. "Don't just give up Nat! Fight, like you actually care if you live!"

"Some things are more important than making sure I live." Like making sure you live she completed the sentence in her head. Clint glared at her angrily.

"I'm going." She said softly, "you'll get over it." He simply glared harder, not answering. No I won't. Natasha returned his glare with a look he was all too familiar with, telling him that there was nothing he could do about it. Clint simply answered her with a look of his own, telling her that he didn't care what she thought, he would try. She sighed and shook her head. She got up, opened the door and walked out.

"Good-bye Clint."
