The Doctor saves the day…
…and our beloved Ianto Jones. A little protest from Germany ^^
Author Notes: This is my first Torchwood fanfic and I usually write in German. So please don't be too harsh about grammar and such, because it's not beta'd.
I just wanted to save Ianto as so many others had already :) Nevertheless, hope you like it, because I'm not sure about it.

The engine of the TARDIS sounded through the room of Thames House announcing the arrival of the blue police box. It appeared right at the point where Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones were standing in front of the 456. They had just drawn their guns which acutally should have pointed at the tank while the walls of the TARDIS were materialising bit by bit around them.
Ianto blinked, altough this was the only reaction showing his surprise about the intruder. The adrenaline triggered by the confrontation of the menacing alien was still running through his veins which is why Ianto didn't lower his gun. Jack on the contrary relaxed nearly immediately and turned around to face the Doctor. As always he was really glad to see him, because honestly he hadn't really known what to do. He had realised much to late which danger he had exposed Ianto to and all those people in the building as well. But Ianto hadn't left his side nevertheless, loyal Ianto Jones.
"Well helloo there"
It was definitely the enthusiastic voice of the Doctor. "I'm really good, aren't I? Sure I am, just in time of course. Hello Captain, you didn't think I would abandon you and the human race with such a situation at hand? You did, didn't you? Ah, now I am hurt, but you've forgotten something: I'm the Doctor!" The monologue was followed by a big grin. Neither Ianto nor Jack had said anything since the first words have left the Doctor's lips. Strictly spaeking, they hadn't had any chance to open their mouthes at all. Altough Ianto and the Doctor stood vis-à-vis now as well, the Welsh still wasn't able to reply for, the Doctor just went on with his little speech. "Now then, don't you want to give a hug to your dear old friend? Because, you know, I just saved your neck…I thought you know better than anyone else that that alien is able to release some kind of virus which would've killed you…well and the genius Ianto Jones too of course..but what should I say…always the headless one going for the gun, aren't we, Captain Harkness…oh by the way good day, Mister Jones."
"Doctor…", was the first and only word Ianto could vocalise. The Doctor's information had been hasty and there was too much to handle. The only thought which occurred Ianto at that moment was the statement that he could be dead by now. Killed by a virus from the 456. He shuddered at the very thought and this seemed to break Jack's paralaysed state, because the Captain stept forward and just hugged the Doctor. Inwardly he was so relieved that the Doctor has shown up, but his only answer was a whispered "'bout time!".
It was a typical Harkness' answer accompanied by a typical Harkness' grin. Now everything is going to turn out all right, because the Doctor was here and he always saves the day.
