King Joffrey marched proudly into the dining room and approached the large, round table where his uncle Tyrion, Little Finger, and prince Oberyn had all been waiting for him. It was not actually the dining room, it was a smaller, secondary one that was hardly ever unlocked. In fact, King Robert Baratheon was known to have only unlocked it once during his entire reign, and his reason for doing so was a close-kept secret. Still, this was a special occasion.
Joffrey sat down in his seat. He forced a brief, fake smile and then began to speak. "I have gathered you all here today because of an...odd discovery that was made in my castle by lord Oberyn here." Oberyn nodded solemnly.
"Lord Baelish, the book." Joffrey said sternly. Petyr reached beneath the table and pulled out a tightly wrapped package. He slowly unwound it to reveal a rather large book.
Tyrion sipped some wine and stared intensely at the book. "If you do not mind me asking, what is actually in this book?"
Joffrey stood up suddenly. Our country is being faced with a very serious issue at this time, is it not, lord Baelish?"
He nodded.
"And would you mind telling the imp and the foreigner what that issue is?"
"Well," Said Petyr. "To put it bluntly, we, well, technically the Lannisters, are in crippling debt right now. We need a way to make money, something of value. This could be our solution." He ran his fingers gently across the cover.
Joffrey watched the hand movement closely, then shuddered. "We need to open it. My uncle here, he must know what is within those pages. Whatever sort of magic it is, he will be able to appreciate it."
Oberyn stood up. "My liege, may I have the honour?"
Joffrey nodded.
Oberyn slowly pulled off his shirt and walked towards the spot on the table where the book was sitting.
"Any particular reason for that?" Tyrion asked, growing more and more confused by the moment.
"There is the script of an ancient language on the front. It declares that one should never have their upper body clothed when admiring the content." Petyr said as he took a step back from the book, making room for Oberyn.
"Admiring? Admiring what?" Tyrion was beginning to get annoyed.
Oberyn stroked the book, then slowly opened it.
"Just tell me whats inside it!" Tyrion demanded.
Oberyn shook his head, his eyes fixed upon the first page. "It cannot be described in words."
"Then let me look at it for myself!" Tyrion ran over and grabbed the book. He then stared at the other three men in the room. He looked back down, and flipped through. Aside from a few slight variations, every page was essentially the same.
"Its a book full of drawings of tits." Tyrion muttered, setting it down on the table. "I'm so lost right now."
Lord Baelish wrapped it up again and placed it in a bag.
"So we should be able to sell it then?" Asked Joffrey. Petyr nodded.
"Shall we be on our way, gentlemen?" Ask Oberyn. The three men exited the room, and left Tyrion standing there alone.
After a moment, he began to follow them. "So what the hell did you call me here for?" He called. There was no reply.
