But when they finally escape, she takes the opportunity to become everything she ever wanted to be and couldn't. But really, the whole hero gig is just asking too much.

Gold is the name - the sharpest, most handsome cyndaquil there ever was. He rocks the boat and isn't afraid of anything, really. Too bad he's completely naïve and has no idea what fate has in store for him.

He believes in beauty and style, because there's that one incident that happened so long ago he's all but forgotten. He's content to remain in the safety of his home village… until a torchic and a lot of angry fire pokemon bust straight through it. Then he gets dragged on an adventure because see, she was a messenger carrying a really important package and now that they know who he is… well, there's no place he can hide anymore.
Sapphire was just helping her dad with research. He's famous, you see, for his observations into pokemon nature and studies, the cause of evolution. She's doing him a favor by taking a package to one Steven Stone. Life isn't cooperating.
A/N: This is a character blurb I found on my laptop that kind of jumped out of another fic I wrote a while ago. I had a lot of fun writing this, and I feel like it'd be a cool idea to turn it into a multichapter fic. I don't know when that'll happen, though, if ever. Ideas are just bouncing around in my head at the moment, and school is a killer.
