'Where am I?'

As his vision cleared he noted that the only thing before him was a plain gray wall, a lone steel door. Attempting to move in vain he found that he was strapped in thick cloth and tied by chains to a chair, apparently bolted to the ground because it didn't budge when he pushed back with both feet.

Suddenly the door opened and Allen looked up to see who had entered. His eyes widened at the all too familiar face. He would've smiled with joy but the owner of that face didn't look happy to see him at all.

''K-Kanda..what have they done to you? ..What happened?'' he asked quietly, unable to contain the hurt in his voice, afraid to make eye contact.

The older was about to answer when an important looking man in a suit called him from the side. They talked quietly for a moment until Kanda nodded and the other man left. Preparing to leave as well, he turned one last time to the silently sobbing boy facing his way. ''Tch, Moyashi.''

Small sobs turned into wails and violent cries that could be heard from the outside. Kanda heard them but he didn't care, maybe. He swore he couldn't care less, but one could've seen the deepening of his scowl, or the uneven speed of his usually collected, professional steps. Even at the clenching of his chest he didn't turn around. He couldn't. He had to stay at the top; this was his domain, anyway. It was for Allen's own good, probably. Maybe he'd be able to explain before they got to him.

Said boy stared absently in disbelief as the last of his cries died down. The old pet name that he'd come to tolerate-love even, had been uttered with such contempt that Allen felt himself die for the second time in his life. 'Yuu..why do you hate me?' If only he could have caught the uncertainty and regret in those eyes.
