Black Book
He stole it, she tricked him - Vergil/X-23 | Drabble
"Hey! Give it back!" The teenage girl lunged herself at her boyfriend, her outstretched hand desperately reaching out for the book in his hands. All that resulted in was her colliding into his chest and him stumbling backwards a bit due to the impact. His ghostly smirk widened just a few small millimeters. He held the black book higher than his head, using his hand's full potential. "You know you're taller than me already, why still stretch?" She asked as she kept jumping up to reach her book.
"I just feel like it," he taunted. "Now, why are you so defensive over this little book?"
"It's just… personal," she blushed.
"Hum… your diary?"
"NO!" she protested as she widened her eyes. Her blush deepened, making her look like a cherry.
"Come on now," he leaned in closer to her, "you know it's wrong to lie, Laura." Her face heated up at the close proximity. His breath was on her face, making her feel the warmness and smell the cool scent of mint that was resting in his mouth. If it was even possible, her face heated up more.
"It just personal…" she looked away from him, letting her face cool down just the slightest bit. Although the smell of mint and the warmth wasn't helping so much, at least her face was cooling down a little. "Nothing you should want to see."
"So it's you diary," he stated. Laura said nothing but continued looking away. He straightened his back and looked back at his girlfriend, who looked helplessly pitiful. She looked almost like her deepest, darkest secret had been blurted out to the whole cast. He shifted his eyes away from the girl, making his heart feel less heavy.
"Please give it back Vergil," she whimpered. She looked like a child; so innocent and pure. Laura was just trembling before him, almost as if she was threatening to cry just right there and alert everyone in the house at that moment. She was pitiful to say the least.
And that was when he felt a sharp thing dig into his skin. He grunted and stumbled back onto the couch. Laura looked back at him with a smirk on her still rosy face. Her eyes showed pride and her pink lips curved into a beautifully evil smirk. One of the claws on her left hand was out and the tip was slightly covered with blood.
"That's what you get when you take my book!" and with that, she walked away with her hips swaying side to side. The older devil rubbed his side where she had dug into and smirked.
"She's not victorious yet…"
