As a side note. I use the memory scene as a kick off point in my chapter fic, Clive and Natalie. It will be uploaded soon, but the rest of this story not including the memory does not apply. SO If you like the memory sequence check out Clive and Natalie. Read and Review.

And if you read any of my other one-shots you uunderstand that I am playing around with different perspectives and writing styles, so yes this is told in Second Person following Pepper.

After finding out Natalie Rushman was in fact Natasha Romanoff, Pepper Potts was allowed to be a little shaken, angry even.

But watching Natasha sit beside Clint, while the team relaxed in what was left of her living room, she couldn't help but be happy. The lies she had accepted as truth at the time, hurt, yet she knew without a doubt it wasn't all a lie.

At least not the lunch they had sat down to during her third week of working with her.

Pepper and Natasha walked out of the board room, leaving the occupants stunned at the no nonsense duo.

"Lunch?" Pepper asked checking her schedule and watch.

"Sure, we've got an hour until the next meeting." Natalie replies with a smile.

Riding with a thoroughly distracted Happy –Natalie was a beautiful woman- the car ride took a few minutes longer than it should have.

Stepping out of the car and into a busy café the duo ordered their lunches and took a seat by the wall.

"Thanks for the help in today's meeting. Sometimes it's nice to have some fun at their expense." Pepper grants with a smile.

"No problem, I don't see how you've dealt with that all these years." Natalie replied with a smile.

"It's not easy but once you deal with Stark, the rest is a piece of cake."

"I bet." Natalie sighed, smiling as the waiter set down their food.

"I hope this isn't too forward, but I'm really hoping you don't fall into the trap all Tony's other PA's have. I'd really hate to kick you out come morning." Pepper blurted

A barely hidden smile works its way onto Natalie's lips as she swallows before replying. "No need to worry about that. I have someone that is far too important for me to lose due to Mr. Stark." She answers reassuringly.

"Oh, you do? That's nice, I'd love to meet him some time. What does he do?" Came Pepper's friendly voice.

Without missing a beat, Natalie responds "He's in international affairs. Before I came here, we were partners in a sense."

Before Pepper could ask any more questions Natalie's phone lit up and seconds later her face followed. A quick glance and Pepper could barely make out the name, Clive, before Natalie was up and moving.

"I'm sorry, I have to take this. I'll meet you back at the office; the next meeting starts in ten." Natalie answered hurriedly paying the tab and rushing out side to take the call, like a woman in love.

Thinking back .Pepper could've been angry, could've been hurt. But watching those two together, whether she was Natasha or Natalie, and he was Clint or Clive, Pepper could see the love. Though their names may be fake, their feelings were not.

So yes, Pepper had every right to be angry, every right to not trust the couple. But the one thing she was sure of –if her relationship with Tony meant anything- is that no matter how you meet someone whether it be under an alias or after the use of pepper spray, you will know within ten minutes if they are good or not. Granted it took ten years with Tony, but he did have his moments.

At the end of the day, Natasha had let her in on something so secret even most of the Avengers still didn't know. How could she be angry for that?
