Uhh… anyone there? I'm a new writer on the scene, seeing as I found this site only a few months back. Anyways, feel free to leave any comments, but no obscenities please. I prefer not reading those, though you might find some here.

This is a prequel to a novel length one I'm planning to write…and sorry to those who don't like it, this is a Yuki/Kaname one.(Alternate Universe)

Disclaimer: Anyone who actually thinks I own Vampire Knight should be sent for mental checkups.

"I'm a WHAT??!!"

(At the Sun dormitory)

"Hey, what do you think that was?" Lisa asked Yui, surprisingly articulate for someone just woken up. "..Dunno….lemme sleep…" was the mumbled reply. "Fine. Be that way. I'm not going to leave you any hot water," as Lisa dragged herself to the bathroom.

(Chairman's office)

"H-how can.. w-what...WHAT DID YOU SAY I WAS?!" Yuki practically screamed, backing away from the Chairman's desk like a frightened rabbit. The often eccentric man, currently in one of his extremely rare bouts of seriousness, sighed and rubbed his temples. It was going to be a looong day.

Yuki had sufficiently calmed down after the shock a good half hour later. "How can I be an Apostle? I've never shown any signs of being special or anything." "Really? Then explain why you always heal at an abnormal rate, thrice as fast as an average person, and why the vampires have always been so partial to your blood, and yours, only." The Chairman smiled benignly at her, the picture of fatherly benevolence.

"…..uh…" Yuki stuttered, trying to think for any other even remotely possible answer, and failing utterly miserably. "See? You can't think of any other reason at all! Tomorrow, your patrol duties will be handed over to Zero, and Yumi, I suppose." "What!! Why?! Am I not doing well enough?" Yuki asked, feeling slightly put out.

"No. But you need training, and Cross Academy is not the place for it. My old friend will train you as one of his organization, a demon exorcist and as a spy. It will ensure your survival in the future." Yuki's eyes filled with tears as she looked at the man she had come to love as a father, and who had tried to protect her for so many years, even now. "Thank you…father," were her whispered words as she hugged him tightly.

Yes, I know it's short, but there're going to be more chapters. Oh yeah, this is a slight Chrono Crusade/Vampire Knight crossover. Don't worry, I'm only using the characters, not the storyline, so you don't need to watch it.
