Nice Nose

Nice Nose

I stood behind a tree. I saw a boy and a younger girl standing in front of me. The boy was kind of cute. They were watching a rat and an Indian fight. All of a sudden I saw an arrow shoot out of no where. A few seconds later and I saw that my brother had been the one to shoot the arrow. Immediately I started to worry for the kids in front of me. My brother wasn't exactly the nicest guy around.

"You should start running now." I told them.

The boy jumped and they both turned around to look at me. I noticed the boy was actually pretty cute up close. I smoothed my hair and smiled. I then remembered about my brother.

"He'll see you if you don't." I said it more knowingly then I meant.

The young girl stepped toward me.

"Are you a squaw?" She asked me curiously.

A squaw? How dare she. I wouldn't mind if my brother got her. I gave her a disgusted look.

"Please do not insult me. I'm trying to give you a head start." I responded to her rude remark.

"What are you talking about?" The cute boy asked me as the younger girl stepped back.

"He is hotheaded and does stupid things. I am levelheaded," I told them. I could practically feel my eyes twinkling. "That is why I will be a great leader one day and lead my people back to the land. He likes to run around and shoot for sport. He does not care for thought. It hurts his head. Shooting is so much simpler. I think life would be easier if I followed his path. Which path do you follow?"

"I'm…levelheaded, too, I guess," He stammered.

I had to laugh. Boy, was he cute.

"Everyone thinks they are. You have a nice nose. But you really should think about running."

The cute boy turned around and looked back at my brother. My brother suddenly turned his head and stood up. The young girl whispered to the boy. I couldn't tell what she said.

"Who is he?" The boy asked me.

"He's my brother of course," I answered. "I really would start running now."

I glanced at my brother. He was reaching for one of his weapons. I wondered which one he had this time. The kids turned around and ran away. I quickly yelled after them.

"Good luck! Maybe he'll only wound you!"

I watched as they ran off and turned around a corner with my brother chasing after them. Well that's probably the last time I would ever see them again. Oh well back to my people. I turned around and left.
