The one I thought I knew

You were the one I thought I knew

And so I put all my trust in you

But when you left I could finally see

That the only one I could trust is me

Loving you has caused so much pain

I lost everything with nothing to gain

The words you spoke cut me so deep

Though I would not let it show, I spoke not a peep

Thinking back, I realized you weren't the one

I'll let you go, when all is said and done

Please answer me this

So I can pretend this fake bliss
