(A/N: Well, this is different, to put the author's note at the beginning of the story instead of the end. There's one at the end also. Anyways, this takes place at Sam and Emily's wedding, and I know I already wrote a fan fic that happens there, but this is another one. Hope you like it! Review!)
Hiding Dreams
Cause nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there-Nickelback, Gotta be Somebody
"I don't need a pity dance, Jacob," I say, staring up at Jacob, who is holding his hand out to me.
"It's not a pity dance, Leah," Jacob says, smiling at me. "I really do want to dance with you."
"What if I don't want to dance with you?"
"Too bad," he says, taking my hand to pull me up from my sitting position. He drags me out to the dance floor, where newly wed Sam and Emily are twirling around. Jared and Kim are also dancing, and Quil is holding Claire in his arms as he parades around the room.
Jacob and I don't really dance; just sort of awkwardly sway back and forth. I gasp as I realize what song is playing. This is, was, Sam and my song. I struggle to free myself from Jacob's grip.
"What's the matter?" Jacob mumbles.
"This song…" I whisper. "Sam and I…it hurts to hear it."
"Oh," Jacob whispers, pulling me closer to him. "Do you want to go somewhere else while it plays?"
"No," I answer. That would feel like chickening out, to run away from everything that reminds me of Sam.
"Ok," Jacob mumbles softly.
"Would you mind explaining to me why exactly you wanted to dance with me?" I ask.
"Well…" Jacob says, stalling for time. "I got over Bella," he says.
"What does that have to do with anything?" I ask.
"I was thinking…that maybe you would get over Sam." He pulls me even closer to him, and I wrap my arms around his waist.
"I can try," I mumble.
"That's all I ask," Jacob says. He strokes my hair, letting his hand trail down my neck to and the back of my blue dress, where he lets it rest. I burry my face in Jacob's chest, breathing in his smell of the forest.
"Leah…" he mumbles, his voice making my name sound like the most precious word.
"Jacob…" I mumble back, using the same tone.
We stay on the dance floor the rest of the night, and during that time, I completely forget about Sam.
And I know, that this is me falling for Jacob black.
(A/N: So originally, I was going to put Sam and Leah's song in the story, but I thought it would be more fun if everyone used their imagination. For me, their song was Sweet and Low by Augustana. I'm curious to see if anyone else had a specific song in mind while reading this. Let me know by reviewing! And even if you didn't have a specific song in mind, review anyways! In case you can't tell, I love reviews.)
