Lost:

Chapter One: Great...

"Do you got everything?" Lance said giving me a quick glance, then looking up seeing the snow falling.

"Yeah, well at least I think I do." I said looking at my car. I can't belive I drove all the way here to meet Lance. Well, I grew up with him so I really didn't "meet" him, but he looks so different than he did 10 years ago and now both of us at the age of 23...

"Is everything ok, Laura?" Lance said giving me a worried like look which shook me out of thinking.

"Oh yeah, heh, I just can't believe I came all the way to Montana to meet my childhood friend, well best friend." I said that so he wouldn't give me the look that said 'Um... this is awkward..'

" Well, I'm glad you could reach me from all the way from Kentucky." He said blushing a bit, which of course made me blush from him blushing, yeah I know, I know 'How cute!' but, Im glad he said that.

"Yeah, me too... Well I guess I should get goin'..." I said looking at my boots that were covered in snow.

"You still have that Kentucky accent, don'tcha." He said laughing and putting his hand in the snow with his glove.

"Hey! You use to live in Kentucky, but you live in Montana now... But you had it too!" I said yelling at him like a little kid would over a small argument. I watched him pick up some snow... *THUD*

"You jerk!" I yelled while removing the snow from my face, and of course this caused a snowball fight!

"I bet you throw like a girl!" Lance called out, hiding from me.

"I remember you saying that, but that was after I showed your up your ass in a game of baseball!" I called out laughing, one...two..three... *POP* I heard the snowball hit his jacket, but not his face!

"Yeah, but that was one time!" He called out like a child still embarrassed about something. He got up from hiding and walked over.

"Well, , I shall be going." I said slightly punching his shoulder.

"Oh come on, we were just getting started!" He whined. "Your nose is red..." He said picking up my chin. I moved my head away.

"It's only because Im cold!" I shouted. Suddenly he looked down at his glove and saw there was a wet little stain.

"Hmm? Explain this missy..." He held his glove up to my eyes.

"Thats just s-snow..." I said stuttering.

"I don't think so... Laura?" He picked up my chin once again looking into my red puffy eyes. He hugged me softly, but it wasn't an embrace, just a friendly hug.

"I honestly don't want to go."

"Laura, it's not like Im going to die." He chuckled while patting my back.

"Still, I mean..." I didn't get to finish my sentence, when he simply kissed my cheak and seperated our bodies. Being as short as I am he had to bend down a little.

"It's ok, I promise I'll go over to Kentucky, once spring comes of course." He said looking at his phone trying to not make contact.

"You better, !" I called out not even thinking of the kiss he left on my cold, wet, cheek.

"I promise, I promise, Mrs. Jerk..."

I didn't quite hear the last part, but I ignored it and hugged him one last time before I headed home, which meant hours worth driving because plane tickets these days are high in price, and I thought it would have been worth the drive.

"So, I guess this is it..." He said looking down at me with his cheeks red.

"Yeah, but its not like Im gonna die, either!" I said giving him a pat on the shoulder and then heading to my car.

"Wait..." Lance called out pulling on my left shoulder.I looked at him...
