This one is a Dom/Kel songfic to "Till There Was You" by: Rachael Starr (it's on the album Euromix 2007)
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters, setting or song (if I did I would have a lot of money… but sadly I don't really)
Till There Was You
Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan sighed and rolled over in her bed. She just had the best dream about her crush (and her best friend Neal's cousin) Sergeant Domitan of Masbolle (a.k.a. Dom). Kel's thoughts remained on her wonderful dream through out her usual morning routine.
What in the world is a girl to do?
When the smoky place I only see you
Was far away when you caught my eye
You brought me back and now you're making me high
Dom walked into the mess hall for breakfast. He was thinking about Kel. He knew that he had hopelessly fallen in love with her. After he collected his food from one of the cooks, Dom quickly walked over to the table where the Lady Knight and her friends (including a certain cousin Meathead and his Yamani lily wife) were sitting and sat beside her. As he was eating he cautiously gazed at her energetic form.
I was alone out there
With no one else around
Now I've fallen for you
And there's no common ground
Till there was you
Keladry saw Dom look at her from the corner of her eye. The knight remembered Dom telling her that he sometimes gets lonely and that he thinks he needs a girlfriend; a lover. Kel turned her head and gave him a huge smile. She felt a strange fluttering inside her chest but soon realized it was from her love for Dom. She desperately wanted him to notice her as more than a friend.

My thoughts are leading

Later Dom caught Kel doing a pattern dance with her glaive in the practice courts. He imagined what life would be like if they were married. He laughed because he hadn't even told Kel he loved her yet! But the more Dom thought about it, the more she meant to him. Suddenly the Own and all Dom's duties didn't mean as much. He did not want to spend the rest of his life alone. Dom walked over to Kel who had now put her glaive down and was wiping her face with her sleeves. He grabbed her strong, lean body and held her close.
Fate can act in a curious way
When all that mattered means nothing today
All that concerns me; that drenches my thoughts
Is the sensation that seeing you brought
Kel looked up at the man that had consumed her thoughts almost all of the time. She too did not want to be alone for the rest of her life. "I love you Kel" she heard Dom's husky voice whisper in her ear. Kel looked at him. His face was so close. She stared into his beautiful, blue eyes and saw that he was being sincere. "I love you too Dom," Kel whispered back. That was all it took. Dom leaned in a little closer, until their lips met. They kissed each other passionately, letting their feelings show.

Each person could only think of the other. Nothing else registered in their minds. They had each other and it would always be like that.
