One Chance
"All I need is one chance in a million, they will call me crazy if I fail, but brilliant if I succeed."
Sakura sat humming one of her favorite songs to herself by her bedroom window, as she tapped her pen against her notebook that was open to a blank page. She ran her fingers through her new short pink hair. Her clear green eyes skimmed the blank page then looked outside the window, down into the busy street of Konoha.
She lived right smack in the middle of one of Konoha's main shopping areas inside of the Leaf Village. Sakura worked as a kunoichi on Team 7 in the Leaf village. Team 7 was now going through a drastic change as a result of the absence of one their most skilled and reserved members, Sasuke.
The change was hard on each team member. It was not harder on any specific person. Still, it hurt Sakura a great deal because she had loved Sasuke from a child. Along with this transition Team 7 was experiencing, each team member began separate projects. Naruto, the spiritful blonde whose own personal talent he had often felt was overshadowed by that of Sasuke's, had begun sage mode training. Kakashi, their sensei and team jounin, had begun working in the hokage tower.
As for Sakura, she had begun medical taijustsu training under the Hokage herself; a renown medic and taijustu nin. While training under the Hokage Sakura was working to perfect her talents. However, there was one talent not manu people knew she had. Sakura loved to sing and she had not sung in public since her days at The Academy.
*Flashback*
The school bell had just rung symbolizing that class had ended for the day. In a matter of seconds the room was almost empty as eager kids ran out after the teacher, Iruka sensei dismissed them. Even Iruka himself had already left the room. Sakura sang outloud to herself as she picked up her notebook and pencil, brushing of her desk.
Hinata, a shy quiet girl who sat behind her tapped her on the shoulder.
Sakura turned slowly.
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry to bother you Sakura-chan, but I think you have a really pretty voice." Hinata said softly and Sakura smiled.
Ino, Sakura's best enemy who happened to sit directly in front of her, turned to face them. Her ice blue eyes were cold as steel like a tiger ready to attack its prey. Sakura swallowed hard, but remained calm on the outside bracing herself for what she was sure to be Ino's unwanted input.
Everyone in The Academy knew that Ino could sing really well and it just came naturally to her.
Ino smirked at Sakura. "Well if you ask me Hinata, and this is no offense to you Sakura, I don't think that Sakura can sing very well. Or at all for that matter!" Ino threw her head back and cackled.
"But don't worry Sakura, everyone's good at something, for you it's just not singing." She smiled innocently as she turned and left the classroom.
