A/N This story is for the Stardust Quote challenge, which I commited to a long time ago and feel bad because it's taken me this long to write a 600 word story. I'm sorry!

Anyways, enjoy!

Lorcan stood out on the sidewalk, looking into Florean Fortucue's Ice Cream Parlor. He was watching Rose, who had surronded herself with guys older and younger than herself. She was flirtly madly with all of them, twirling her bright red hair on her finger and talking in a breathy voice.

Lorcan took a deep breath, let it out, and walked into the ice cream parlor. As soon as Rose laid her eyes on Lorcan, her smile fell off her face and her hand fell from her hair. He tried not to smirk as he motioned for her to follow him.

She made an excuse to leave the table and quickly followed Lorcan outside.

Before Lorcan made it to the sidewalk, Rose caught him in a hug.

"I've missed you." Rose whispered into Lorcan's ear. It took all his willpower to not give in and just hug her back.

"Rose," he pulled her hands away from him and held them by his chest. He gazed at them and then let go. Rose's arms fell back into place by her side.

"What?" Rose asked, her big blue doe eyes gazed up into his. He willed himself to keep looking.

"I don't think I can do this anymore."

"Do what?"

"Lie to myself. Pretend that you didn't cheat on me. Tell myself that it was an accident." Lorcan listed. Rose was too stunned for words. She crossed her arms against her chest and her eyes went to the ground.

"Why did you cheat?" Lorcan asked. Rose mumbled something that sounded a lot like, 'I don't know.'

"And you want to know what's worse? It was Lysander! My own brother, sneaking around with you, my girlfriend! I should have done something back in May when I found out but I guess I was too damn stupid to realise that it was true! I trusted you!" Lorcan vented, making Rose start to sniffle.

"Don't tell me you're going to cry." Lorcan snapped.

"Maybe I will! It's not everyday that your boyfriend calls you a tramp!" Rose replied, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Well, maybe I wouldn't have to call you one if you weren't! I'm done with you!" Lorcan turned to leave but Rose wasn't done.

"You told me you loved me! You told me that I was perfect and beautiful and everything you wanted!" Rose accused. Lorcan saw a tear escape her eye and run down her cheek.

"Well, I guess I was wrong." Lorcan said sternly, making Rose step forward a bit. They were two feet away from each other.

"Why? Why was it Lysander?" Lorcan asked, his voice back to a whisper.

"He...you know. He made me feel special. Like he understood me. He made me feel important."

"Is he what you want?"

Lorcan thought she would say yes but instead she sighed and the next moment they were kissing. Rose had flung herself at him and now she had played her most desperate card.

Lorcan pulled her away, thinking a moment how bittersweet the kiss had tasted.

"You know what I want." Rose whispered.

"Yeah, I do. You want to grow up and get over yourself." And with that, he turned and left Rose standing by herself, mad and angry but deep down, she knew that Lorcan was right.
