Disclaimer: Do I own HP? Maybe for Christmas….

This one was partially inspired by the fanfic author Loads Of Randomness. It's also a response to the unusual pairings challenge.

Harry was trapped. There was no escape for him this time, no lucky break, and no miraculous rescue.

It was his own fault really. He hadn't exactly been paying attention to where he was going. And as a result, he was trapped under some charmed mistletoe that some prankster had set up in the Gryffindor common room.

To make it worse, EVERYONE in Gryffindor knew about the mistletoe. Even Neville avoided it when he wanted to. (He certainly didn't want to avoid it when he took Luna Lovegood under the mistletoe.) All you needed to do to escape the enchanted mistletoe was to kiss someone, but there was a problem with that at the moment. It was half-past one in the morning and pretty much everyone was in bed, leaving him stuck here until the morning.

Of course, Harry mused, he probably wouldn't have been caught if he hadn't been busy dwelling on Ginny. The monster in his chest was not happy and with very good reason. Six weeks ago, while walking back to the Gryffindor common room with Ron, he had stumbled upon Ginny in the middle of a passionate kissing session. The trouble was, she was kissing Padma Patil at the time.

A boyfriend wouldn't have been so bad. At least that way, Harry knew he might well have a chance with her. But even if Ginny broke up with Padma, she was very clear when she'd yelled at Ron. Ginny was a lesbian and that left Harry firmly out of the equation.

"You ok Harry?" A girl's voice asked and Harry broke out of his reverie. Looking up, he saw Katie Bell looking at him with interest.

"Yeah, I'm just a bit stuck here." He said, indicating the mistletoe above him. Katie raised an eyebrow.

"How you can be such a good seeker in the air and yet NOT spot that charmed mistletoe, I don't know." She said with a smile. "Unless you were busy thinking about Ginny and how much you wished she liked you and not Padma."

Harry's mouth opened and closed wordlessly for a few moments. Finally, he spoke.

"How did you know?"

Katie raised an eyebrow. "I've seen the way you look at her when you think no-one is looking. And the look on your face the night you discovered her with Padma Patil. But don't worry, I don't think anyone else knows."

"Good." Suddenly a thought crossed Harry's mind and he continued. "WHY did YOU notice and not anyone else?"

At this question, Katie blushed. "W-w-well it's kind of…" Katie's voice dropped to a mumble.

"Pardon?" Harry asked, his eyebrow raised.

"I SAID IT'S BECAUSE I LIKE YOU!" Katie virtually yelled out, before clapping her hands over her mouth. "I just yelled that out loud, didn't I?" Harry nodded. "Oh Merlin, that was embarrassing."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea." Harry said sadly, and for the first time he noticed that Katie Bell was a pretty girl, in an athletic kind of way. She was also wearing a red nightdress that clung to her figure nicely. Very nicely actually. "Umm, sorry to ask, but a little help here please?"

"Oh yes, sorry!" Katie exclaimed and she leaned forward to give him a very deep kiss. A very good kiss, one that made him feel as though his whole body was alive. As she walked away, she turned and gave Harry a small smile. "There's always more if you want." Before starting her way up the stairs. Harry felt a smile come to his face, the first one he'd had in weeks. Maybe, just maybe, there WAS hope after heartbreak.

AN: Merry Christmas guys.
