PROLOUGE

It was nighttime and all was dark in the forest. The moon shone light on a small clearing surrounded by trees on all sides. There was rustling, and then a tabby cat with brown and black stripes across its back emerged out into the clearing. It took a few glances in all directions, making sure the area was empty. It strode to the center of the clearing, and sat down. Its pelt sparkled under the light of the full moon. Then, the tabby said, "Alright, no one else is here. You may show yourself now." With that, a different cat appeared from the trees opposite of the tabby. This cat was much different than the first, for it had a pink pelt and a tail that split, giving it two ends. A red pearl shone brightly on its forehead. Sitting down in front of the tabby, the second cat replied, "Are you sure it's safe? You know we can't take the risk of some cat overhearing this meeting." "I'm positive. Now, what did you want to tell me," asked the tabby.

"I had a vision, about your clan. I believe one of the kits in your nursery is becoming an apprentice soon, correct?"

"Yes, that's right. His name is ShadeKit, what about him?"

"Well, I have seen a glimpse of him in the future. For one thing, he will be a great warrior, very brave, strong, and loyal." "That's great, StarSeeker, but I have a feeling that that's not the reason you needed to talk to me," said the tabby with a questioning look. StarSeeker chuckled a little and said, "That's only because you didn't let me finish, EarthPelt. What I came here to tell you, is that ShadeKit is more than just a normal kit." "What do you mean," asked EarthPelt, clearly puzzled. StarSeeker leaned forward, to make sure that EarthPelt could hear her, and said "He has special powers, gifted to him from StarClan. Powers that no cat in our clan can even achieve." EarthPelt's eyes were wide. "What kind of powers?" he asked. "I don't know." She said, "Since I can only get a glimpse of the future, I wasn't informed." EarthPelt looked a little disappointed. "Oh. Well, is there anything else you need to tell me?" asked EarthPelt. StarSeeker looked at EarthPelt with a worried expression. "Actually, yes, I saw something else in my vision. It is a little hard to explain this part of the vision, but…" She trailed off. "What is it StarSeeker?" asked EarthPelt. "I also foresaw an evil in your clan. A traitorous evil that might threaten the safety of both out clans." EarthPelt looked worried. StarSeeker nudged her friend affectionately. "Don't worry," she said, "I'm sure it'll be nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye out for anything." She stepped back, "Well, I have to go; I have spent too much time here already. I'll see you later, okay EarthPelt?" Before he could say anything else, StarSeeker bounded through the foliage on the other side of the clearing. After she left, EarthPelt turned around, and headed back to his camp, still pondering his friend's words of warning.
