A/N: Its a tiny little story, that I wrote over the summer before the NCIS season premire. Just my humble little opinion of what could have happened to bring Ziva home. Please, please, please review. I appreiciate all of your reviews.

Team Gibbs looked up as the elevator doors opened. Out walked FBI Agent Tobias Fornell. He was followed by another agent pushing a wheelchair. Gibbs and Tony stood up, daring to hope. McGee, already filled with hope, quickly called Abby. Their hope was worth it; in the wheelchair was Ziva David, barely recognizable but, Ziva nonetheless. Gibbs and Tony ran forward and took the chair from the unknown agent.

"Take her down to Ducky, DiNozzo." Gibbs ordered, his voice not as harsh as it usually was. As soon as Tony and Ziva were in the elevator, heading down, Gibbs turned to Fornell.

"What is this Tobias?" Gibbs growled. Fornell shrugged.

"I thought you might want her back." He said, nonchalant.

"Well, do you want to tell me how you got her back?" Gibbs said, eyes blazing, not with anger but, with disappointment in himself. How could he let Fornell of all people rescue Ziva?

"Not really, just know, Mossad thinks she's dead." With that, Fornell and his agent left. Gibbs grabbed McGee and the two went down to Autopsy to see how Ziva was.

Abby met them at the doors to Autopsy. She was bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"How is she? Is she okay? GIBBS!" She gave Gibbs a hug.

"I hope she's okay. Do you think she'll be okay? Gibbs, why won't Ducky let me in?" As soon as she said it, the doors to Autopsy opened and Palmer ushered them in. Abby ran to the only occupied table.

"ZIVVVAAAA!" She shrieked. Tony caught her before Abby did anymore damage to Ziva.

"Abs," he said quietly, "Be careful. We just got her back; we don't want to lose her again." Abby nodded.

"How are you Ziva? We've been so worried. I had to break out Mop Ziva, again!" Ziva gave her friend a small smile. It was obvious to everyone that even this small movement caused Ziva a lot of pain.

"I will be fine Abby. It will take a while but, soon I will be healthy as a moose." Abby, McGee and Tony laughed for the first time since Ziva was gone. Even Ducky and Gibbs gave smiles. Ziva managed to look confused through her many bruises and lacerations.

"What, did I say the wrong thing?" She looked to Tony, who usually corrected her mistakes.

"Yeah, it's healthy as a horse. Not moose." Ziva gave a small 'oh' of comprehension. Ducky and Gibbs helped her off the table and back into her wheelchair. When she didn't give any protest that was when they knew she was in real pain. They went upstairs by means of the elevator.

Many other agents watching thought they made an odd parade. Gibbs, in the lead, wearing his usual expression, as if he wasn't the leader of such a parade. Ziva came next, being pushed by Tony. Ziva was so badly beaten that she looked freaky all by herself. Next came the pale, computer nerd walking with the peppy, smiling Goth. Bringing up the rear was the elderly, Scottish ME and his young, nerdy assistant. Ziva gave a rare smile that betrayed her happiness at being home.

"Ziva, since you don't have an apartment after… well anyway, you can stay with me until you get a new one." Abby offered.

"Thank you Abby. I think I will take you up on that offer. It will be nice to be with friends again."

"Alright now that Ziver's back, you can start on your case work again. That means you DiNozzo. I know McGee's been doing 75% of the work for you." Gibbs said, although his harsh tone was ruined by the small smile he had on. Much to Ziva's surprise, Tony did not receive a Gibbs-slap. Things had changed in the 5 months she was gone. And she wasn't sure if things would ever be the same.
