Chapter 1

Percy's point of view

It was the first day of high school. I had this awesome girlfriend, Thalia. I hadn't seen my friends Nico and Beckendorf all summer, so I was evicted to see them. I was so glad for high school because last year, there was a boy's school, and a girl's school. Of course there were tons of hot girls, but I only looked a little, because I had Thalia. Thalia and I had been friends since we were two and she was so cool! Then I finally saw Thalia. I walked up to her and gave her a hug.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm okay. Hey there's Nico and Beckendorf." So we went and talked to them. I introduced them to Thalia and they all wanted me to meet their girlfriends. So we went looking for them. We found Nico's girlfriend Silena first. She was really pretty, but I wasn't really attracted to her. She was like one of those super gorgeous super-models that were hardly even human.

Then we found Beckendorf's girlfriend, Annabeth, seconds later. She was really attractive. Of course you have Thalia, Percy a voice in my head said. Apparently all three girls were like best friends last year. Weird. Then we all compared schedules. I had Math with Thalia, Teen living with Annabeth, L. A. with Nico and Beckendorf, and history with every one.

I went on with my day as usual. The only class that made an impression so far was teen living. As soon as the bell rang, the teacher told us that we would be married to one person for the whole term. We would do everything with them. She assigned me and Annabeth together. I was cool with that.

"At least I'm with someone familiar" I said.

"Definitely. I'm glad I'm not stuck with Snowy." She pointed to a guy with dandruff so bad it looked like he put ten cotton balls on his head.

"And I'm not paired with piggy is partner." I gestured to the girl with a squashed in nose. She busted out laughing. I decided I liked this girl.

Then it was time for lunch. I walked into the cafeteria and lost my breath. This place had all my favorite fast food restaurants. It had McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Time, Dairy Queen, Wendy's Chick-Fill-A… I officially loved this school!
