I also want to generalize this. While doing research to make this (also cringed), I felt like reader-inserts are usually female-reader.

You look up from the teen magazine you're reading. You wish someone, anyone at all, would come in to check on you, after all you have a giant white room all to yourself. Now that you think about it, they always stuff you in the same room.
You sigh. It seems like you just got out and are now back in again. It's always been that way. You know, because you over hear the nurses often talking about it, that he is back again today.
Syo Kurusu.
He's like you, but different. Though he usually just comes in for check ups, he doesn't have to stay very often like you do. But every once in a while he stops in to see you.
You feel your heart pound. You want to see him again. Recently you watched a movie that he stared in. You want to tell him how amazing he is. You almost hope he's there so you can ask for an autograph.
As if some higher power were answering you're call, you here a tap at the door.
"Anyone here?" Syo sticks his head in. There's a big smile on his face, probably because he knew you were stuck in here.
"Kurusu-san." You bow your head politely. "It's been a while."
"It had." He nods in agreement. His blue eyes glance around the room. "Sucks that you're here though."
"It's not all bad."
"Really?" He looks at you with a puzzled face.
"Well, you came by to visit me."
You watch as he blushes. His face looks so adorable when he's completely flustered. You're half tempted to take a picture, but that would be rude. And besides, when you get back to school you don't want to share this moment with anyone.
"Well, my visit can't b that great." He shrugs, trying to play it cool. It's to late, you already have the sight of him standing before you embedded in you're brain. "Maybe I can get you something. A juice from the vending machine?"
" No!" You say, not wanting him to leave.
"O-oh okay." He says taking the nearest seat. "Is there anything else you want?"
You gather your courage, you can feel your cheeks heating up. "H-hey, could you sing for me?"
"Huh?" He tilts his head at you.
"Last time you came, we didn't talk very much, you just sang for me." You explain.
"But I want to get to know you." Syo gives you a bright smile.
You're sure that your face is on fire. Syo Kurusu, a member of STARISH, wants to get to know you!
"But since you asked I guess I could sing for you. We can talk after." He teases you.
