It was a common day at the Eldricht Pub in Dia. Sailors, Fisherman and townsfolk were all playing games of chance or just sitting around, talking about the latest gossip. Barely anyone looked up when a cloaked person entered the pub, sitting at the bar. The person lowered their hood, revealing green hair and a feminine face. The woman spoke up. "Bartender, serve me the best you've got."
The bartender looked at the woman. She didn't seem to have enough cash on her to spend. "May I ask what you'll be paying with? My best is worth more gold than you can afford to spend."
The woman reached into a pocket on her cloak, pulling out a satchel. She tossed it into the counter, the sound of coin coming from it. "A hundred gold. Is that fair to you, Barkeep?" The barkeeper could barely believe it, so he dumped the bag out and counted each piece. She wasn't lying.
People's heads started turning in the woman's direction. Had she really just payed a hundred gold for a drink? How did she have that gold? Hearing these questions being asked, the woman looked over her shoulder. The people wondering stopped talking suddenly, and she turned back to the Barkeep. "So, is it enough?"
The Barkeep, unable to believe it, just nodded. "Ma'am, there's enough gold here for two bottles of my best."
"Fine, I'll take them." The woman waited patiently, and the barkeep handed her two bottles of Cyrkensian Wine. She opened a bottle and took a sip. "Thanks. It's hard to find a good wine nowadays."
The Barkeep was curious: what was a woman with such riches doing in Port Dia? And why was she dressed like a commonfolk? He began to clean a glass that a patron of his had left. "Ma'am, may I ask why you came to Port Dia? You don't seem like a merchant or fisherman."
The woman set down her bottle. "If you really must know, I'm looking for someone I lost. I know he's still alive out there, somewhere." She took a long draught from the bottle.
The barkeep nodded. "A lot of people pass through Dia. May I ask who your looking for?"
The woman nodded. "A man named Zycron. He has honey blond hair and green eyes. A brighter green than my hair."
The barkeep thought for a second. "No, I'm afraid we didn't see him come through here. I'm sorry."
The woman nodded. "That was expected. I'm going to go on my way, but first," The woman stood up and drew an emerald rapier, pointing it at a person who was trying to pickpocket her, "I highly suggest against stealing from me."
The thief ran out of the pub. The woman sighed and sheathed her rapier. She turned towards the barkeep. "Well, I thank you for your hospitality, kind sir. I'll be on my way." She turned to leave.
The barkeep, shocked at what had just happened, called out. "Hey, miss! What's your name?"
The woman paused at the door out, turning back. "My name is Sera Yvioness Shade, and I'm searching for my husband." She walked out into the port, slamming the door behind her.
