Disclaimer: I don't own Winx Club.

Flora stepped through the now-familiar gates of Alfea to begin her second year. Last year had been rather chaotic, between the formation of the Winx, Bloom's Dragon Fire, Sky's identity, the Trix's grab at conquest, and the various romances her friends had gotten themselves involved in. A small pang hit Flora at that last thought. She'd thought she might have found someone for herself in Mirta, but the transfer student clearly still had strong feelings for Lucy. Flora was happy for her friend, but it was still disappointing.

Lost in her thoughts, Flora wandered towards the rooms she and the other Winx shared. She almost didn't notice when Tecna toppled out of the room she and Musa lived in and hit the floor with a crash.

"Tecna, are you alright?" Flora asked, shaken out of her reverie by concern for her friend.

"I'm fine," Tecna said. "I merely tripped."

"You tripped?" Flora asked. Tecna wasn't what Flora would call clumsy, and there wasn't much to trip on around here.

Tecna's face colored slightly and she looked away from Flora. "I was using my phone and wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

"Tecna," Flora said with gentle reproach. "You shouldn't spend so much time on your phone. You'll get hurt."

"I'm fine Flora," Tecna said. "I don't use my phone that much."

"Tecna..." Flora said.

"I'll be fine," Tecna said.

"If you're certain," Flora said. "Just please don't try walking while using your phone? Please? I don't want you getting hurt."

"Alright," Techna said. "I won't walk and text at the same time."

"Thanks," Flora said. "I'm going to go unpack now, I'll see you later."

"I'm going to send a text to Timmy, see you later," Tecna said, returning to her room.

Flora pushed open the door of the room she shared with Bloom and made her way over to her bed. She opened up her suitcase and unpacked her things. She paused, then sighed. Mirta had Lucy, and Flora was happy for her. Still, losing two crushes in one year left its mark. Mirta was the second, but before that, Flora'd had the beginnings of a crush on someone else. Someone who was nothing like her. Someone who would clearly never share Flora's feelings. Still, emotions were no respecters of reality, and while Flora had suppressed her crush, she still wasn't fully over it.

She still wasn't over the purple haired girl who lived across the hall.

She still wasn't over Tecna.

A/N: I've checked, and this is the first story in the archive to have Flora and Tecna paired this way. Yay for starting new ships!
