People weren't sure what to make of their relationship and words never seemed to fit the true sentiments that they had.
They didn't mind – between the two of them, enough words – both good and bad – had been uttered to last a lifetime.
People never understood what they saw in each other.
They didn't care – they alone knew what it was and they thought it better that it stayed that way.
People said they had nothing in common and that they were an impossible match.
They believed otherwise – they had both been broken and they found, that together they were more or less whole and they couldn't think of anything that made them more alike or better suited then that.
People assumed their relationship was doomed.
They knew that it was.
Yet, the fact remained that they were together and whilst they may have been unexpected and they may have ultimately been a disaster, at the time they were the shimmering beacon of light that the other had in a world that had been dark for too long.
Neither of them expected it to last for ever and neither truly expected to live past whatever day they were facing at the time... but they took the risk and they were rewarded for it because they lived their lives in a world where everyone else was too scared to.
They got took their chance and had better days for it.
Because they didn't mind, because they didn't care and mostly because they knew better then all the people who stood on the sidelines of their life and disapproved.
Because they went ahead and lived.
AN: Hey guys, my first attempt at DM/HG - i'm not even quite sure what inspired this... As usual, i've done my best to ensure that everything spelt correctly and grammar used in the appropriate places, if i have missed something don't hesitate to tell me and i shall do my best to fix it.
