A/N: Okay, so here it goes. This fic takes place postRENT. It starts out as Roger/Mark, but it's going to be Roger/Mimi.

Disclaimer: Is my name Jonathan Larson? I don't think so!

He had never expected it to come to this.

He had never expected himself to be falling out of love with his boyfriend, his best friend. He thought for

sure that they would last.

He had been wrong. Horribly wrong.

After dating Mark for the past seven months, Roger soon realized that he was falling in love with someone

else.

A female someone else.

Mimi.

Just the sound of her name made his heart jump. He had fallen in love with her the minute he saw her, then

realized his feelings for Mark.

Now, seven months after breaking her heart, here he was. In Mimi's bed, watching her sleep.

He noticed how her beautiful curly hair gently covered her face as she slept, how she seemed to smile as

he pulled her closer to him.

She stirred slightly, and then her eyes fluttered open.

"Hey." She said, sleepily.

"Hey." He smiled down at her and kissed her forehead.

"What are you thinking about? You look worried." Mimi asked, lacing her fingers with his.

"Mark." He replied.

"Oh."

Silence filled the room.

"Meems...how am I gonna tell him that I don't love him anymore? He still thinks we're in a happy, loving relationship! I can't keep lying to him like this, he's my best friend!" Roger groaned and fell back onto the pillows.

"Roger...it's going to work out. Look, we'll keep going for a little while longer...and when you're ready, you can tell him. But Rog...he has to know soon." Mimi said, falling back with him.

"There's just one thing I want to know..." Mimi looked at Roger nervously, biting her lip.

"Sure, babe, what is it?" Roger asked.

"It's just...are you absolutely sure you don't think of Mark as more than your best friend?"

Roger smiled at her. "Mimi, baby, I love you. And no one else but you. Don't get so worried, okay?"

With that, Roger leaned down and kissed her.

But in the back of his mind, he still wondered how he would explain everything to Mark.

A/N: So, what did you think? Good? Bad? Stupid? Stupider than stupid? Reviews are apprieciated!
