A/N: I have a new obsession which is Beth/Nate however having slight writers block, except when I heard this song. One shot possibly. Please read and review.

Disclaimer: I only own, Suzanne, James and Theresa.

When I am down and, oh, my soul so weary;

when troubles and my heart be burdened be;

Then I am still and wait here in the silence;

until you come and sit a while with me.

Most children dream of only seeing their parents seven days a year. Most children dream of their

parents putting enough money in their bank account to comfortably live on, Most children dream of

holiday houses in the sun. Not Beth Green she just wants to be loved.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

you raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong when I am on your shoulders;

you raise me up, to more than I can be;

Suzanne and James Green return to the UK for a total of seven days. The third of that day Christmas

Eve they have dinner with their only child a daughter Bethany. Each year on that day they host a

dinner party at a different location unknown to them this year and this location would be different.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

you raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong when I am on your shoulders;

you raise me up, to more than I can be;

This year it would be different as Sun Hill police station was the chosen destination.

No-one as Sun Hill police station had met Beth's parents before and this was probably a good thing.

Suzanne had called her daughter on the same day as the dinner ordered her their for 7.30pm.

There is no life- no life without its hunger;

each restless heart beats so imperfectly;

but then you come and fill it with wonder;

sometimes I think I glimpse eternity;

at exactly 7.30 Beth arrived greeted her parents guests and her parents.

'oh, you made it' Beth mum looked as though she wished she didn't

'well I guess it didn't have an option' Beth smiled politely back

'i'm sure you could of made of some kind of excuse' this would of hurt if it had been a irregular

occurrence.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

you raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong when I am on your shoulders;

you raise me up, to more than I can be;

'remind me why I can't slap her' Theresa on of Beth's mum oldest friend and Beth's unofficial

mother.

'because she's my mum' Beth looked hurt it was the most used look when she was around "them"

Beth colleagues had witnessed the exchange, and heard the rumours.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

you raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong when I am on your shoulders;

you raise me up, to more than I can be;

the evening went from bad from worst, there was more and more insults being thrown to Beth.

Nate couldn't deal with this any more and managed to corner Beth's mum.

'how dare you speak to your daughter feel like that' Nate didn't know where this anger was coming

from and now the rest of the guests were turning to look,

'excuse me who are you and I have no idea what you're talking about' Suzanne prided herself on

keeping a clean head and entertaining her guests.

'i'm talking about Beth, although I know it must be hard for you to understand that considering you

haven't been a mother to her'

'Nate leave it please' Beth arrived at Nate's side

'do you know something Beth, when I first saw the way your mum spoke to you I felt bad I really

did to think that you had missed out on a mother, but now I know I shouldn't feel sorry for you

because your so called mother is the one who has missed out, on you, you are beautiful, clever,

witty and kind you would help anyone if you could' Nate stopped suddenly as Beth kissed him, he

did nothing but kiss her back.
