Author's Note: I do not own Fruits Basket. This consists of four different flashbacks. This is written for the Furuba Flash Bingo (091 - prompt: crystal tears) on the Fruits Basket Fanfiction Challenges forum.
There was one thing that all the women of the Zodiac had in common, their tears were like crystals.
Hiro had never felt so much guilt, until the first time he saw Kisa cry. It had happened after he asked Akito if he could marry Kisa. Akito had went after her, and had hurt her. Kisa had cried to him about it afterwards, and he had felt horrible for causing it. The only thing that he wanted after that day was for it to never happen again. So he did the only thing he could think of to solve it, get rid of what had caused all the pain, him.
Kyo had been getting chased by Kagura all day and had told her to go away like he did everyday. What he hadn't expected to happen was for her to start crying. He stood there watching her, unsure of what to do. Kagura was always so headstrong, and determined. Kyo did the first thing that came to his mind, and gave her a hug. Kyo wasn't sure what had caused Kagura to finally break that day, but he didn't want it to happen ever again.
Isuzu had been in a weird mood, as Haru had pointed out to her earlier. Haru had been hanging out with her ever since she was abandoned by her parents. Throughout that entire time, he had never seen Isuzu shed a tear. She was simply too strong, or stubborn, to cry around others. Haru glanced over at Isuzu to see her crying, and began to feel guilty. It wasn't like he had done anything, but he still felt guilty all the same. Haru walked over to her and spent the night holding her while she fell apart.
Shigure had been in the Sohma Estate visiting Hatori, so he had decided to visit Akito. Akito sat alone in her room watching the birds and butterflies outside. Shigure walked into the room and wondered why it was so silent. He walked over to Akito and noticed the tears on her face. Shigure quietly cursed Kureno, as he wrapped his arms around his Goddess. Shigure spent the entire night with Akito, leaving Yuki at his house wondering what his older cousin was doing.
