Before I get into the story, I just want to say that English isn't my first language, so there may be some grammatical mistakes. I promise that I will try my hardest to correct them, but if you find a mistake, feel free to correct me.
Pretty seemed to have everything - she was rich, famous and beautiful - heck, that last part was right in her name. Everything was handed to her ever since she was young. She could buy anything, anytime she wanted. Her selfies always got hundred of likes on Fakebook and many boys liked her. But of course, there is an exception to every rule. And in some sort of ironic twist of fate, one of the few boys that resisted her charms was the one that she had a gigantic crush on - Mr. Cat, her next door neighbour. Everytime she tried to flirt with him, he rejected her at best and physically attacked her at worst. Then again, it was kind of hard to blame him. Pretty wasn't exactly the nicest person, not even to him. It was obvious that Pretty only liked him for his appearance. She never respected his personal space, privacy or wishes. She would knock him just to create a reason to kiss him. One day, she even tried using a love potion on him. Everyday, she grew more and more frustrated by Mr. Cat's rejections.
One day, she was looking at herself in the mirror. Why doesn't he love me? Does he think that he is too good for me?, she thought to herself, not realizing that her sister Eugly just came to her room. She was holding a bowl of some sort of diet salad.
"What do you want?" Pretty asked in an annoyed tone of voice. Eugly came over to Pretty's table and put the bowl on it. To Eugly's surprise, Pretty didn't say anything else. Well, Pretty rarely said "Thank you" to Eugly. But she usually said something - it was always either another command, an insult, or something else said in a yell, but it was something nonetheless. Eugly came over to Pretty and turned her chair around.
"Can't you see I am putting on make up?!" Pretty yelled, only to notice that her sister had a worried expression on her face. Pretty sighed and decided to spill the beans. "I just don't understand why you, out of all people, have a boyfriend, and I don't..."
Eugly kneeled down in front of Pretty with a frown on her face. Her sister had thoughts like this often and it confused her a lot. The thing is, ever since she started dating her boyfriend, Quack Quack, she was genuinely wondering why he would like her. She always lived in her twin's shadow, she knew that Pretty was more desirable than her and yet it was her who was in a happy relationship. A part of her thought that she didn't deserve it. However, after a while, she realized what was going on - Eugly took the opportunity that Pretty didn't take. Quack Quack - a nice, friendly, patient guy who understood and loved Eugly more than anyone else was right there. She didn't even care if Quack Quack wasn't the most good looking guy out there - they loved each other. However, Pretty was weirdly fascinated by the idea of a "bad boy" and Mr. Cat fit the definition perfectly. It's something that Eugly couldn't for the life of her understand. Why would her sister be so interested in this unapproachable, short-tempered and rude guy who would often get drunk, act like a pervert and would constantly hurt everyone, even his own friends and especially her kind-hearted boyfriend, when she has like thousands of other admirers, some of whom seemed to be decent guys? One day, it finally dawned of her, but she wouldn't even dare to ask Pretty about it, so she just kept it to herself. Eugly decided to stop thinking about it and just comfort her sad sister. She looked at the poster of Mr. Cat that was on Pretty's wall. On it, he was posing proudly while wearing stylish sunglasses and making a confident smile that showed off his bright, almost sparkling teeth. From a completely superficial standpoint, Eugly knew where her sister was coming from when it came to that cat. Eventually, Pretty pushed Eugly off, moved from her chair to her bed and turned on her phone. Eugly took a quick peek at the phone as Pretty opened her internet browsing app. It's history was full of fashion websites, shopping websites, websites about fitness, but, most of all, tutorials in the style of "How to make your crush notice you". Eugly didn't want to invade her sister's privacy, so she stopped peeking.
"If that stupid squirrel didn't drink the love potion I ordered, Mr. Cat could have been mine!" Pretty declared angrily. Eugly was disturbed by the fact that her sister didn't realize just how crazy that sounded. Eugly didn't get along with Mr. Cat that well. After all, his favorite hobby was to torture her beloved Quack Quack in any way possible, but everything about Pretty's idea seemed insane to her. The idea that this potion even exists on the internet and everyone can get their hands on it seemed insane to her. But, as always, she stayed quiet, out of fear that Pretty might throw a hissy fit at her… again. Just then, Pretty smiled and started thinking about something. Eugly felt a chill going down her spine when she saw Pretty's smile - it was a plotting, slightly malicious smile that actually reminded her of Mr. Cat. What didn't help Eugly's fear was that a few seconds later, Pretty started giggling. Eugly swallowed anxiously. Eugly knew Pretty well enough to know that whatever that girl had on mind wasn't good.
