Team 7 was sitting in th woods. Kakashi surveyed his team from atop a rock. He had used their forehead protectors as blindfolds and lead them into the unknown. Before leaving them to their survival training he gave them a few words of warning.
In this forest were pale white, iridescent flowers, that catch animals
with webs they spin inside. Then tiny spiders will run down the
strings, paralyzing the animal.
Kakashi gone, the team sat still for a few more moments, listening to the sounds around them. The sounds of muffled crying reached Naruto's alert ears. Removing his blindfold, he went to investigate. The rest of the team followed suit.
They discovered Konohamaru and two other boys sitting on an old desk in the woods. At the sight of Naruto, Konohamaru cries harder, leaping into his arms. Naruto pulls a pack of pink post-it notes from his pocket, getting Konohamaru to blow his nose and wipe his face.
By the way they're talking some bizarre language that only I can't understand. So Naruto talks, Konohamaru answers, Sasuke says something that makes them all cry again, Sakura scolds him.
In a panic, Sasuke grabs the post-it notes and copies Naruto's previous action on the boy closest to him. Right down to the comforting cat like grin. As the boys sniffle, Sasuke turns away. A look of "dear god, what do we do?" on his face. His teammates staring back at him with an "where the hell did that come from?"
Naruto agrees to help them get home and they're overjoyed. Konohamaru leaps onto Naruto's back, the other boy leaps onto Sasuke's shoulders and the last dances around Sakura.
The children in hand, they reach a canyon. Both sides lined with open pods. They're filled with water and occupied by a single white flower. (Think like the Matrix, only in nature and no bodies) At their right was a great waterfall, and a river running through the canyon floor.
Naruto says something, the others nod. Then they all take a flying leap over the canyon. None of them reaching the top on the other side, rather they landed in the pods. Naruto had Konohamaru climb up his back and up. Sasuke pushed his over the tope and Sakura breathed a sigh of relief. The boys were safe and on their way home.
Sasuke went to move and couldn't, he was having trouble breathing. A look to his right and he could watch as Naruto, clutching his throat, tumbled over the end of his pod. Naruto landed with a belly-flop in the river, then Sasuke, then Sakura. All paralyzed, skin feeling like it was being pulled tight and ripped off.
"Kakashi-sensei! Kakashi-sensei!" But the Jounin was gone. As their bodies floated there, the water began to swirl.
Toad like creatures appeared in the water and pulled them up river. Passed the waterfall, to where a toad creature, easily 5 times the size of the others, sat. Seeing the still forms of his approaching breakfast, he licked his cracked lips with a rough, bumpy, pink tongue.
The creatures lined up their bodies in front of the giant beast and stepped away. Long knarled and wet fingers moved to grab Naruto.
And JadeTiger's mom woke me up.
That'll teach me to eat chocolate chip cookie cream sandwich things before bed.
