Sorry this is a bit short, the next chapter will be longer.

It was senior year. The year of memories. The final year at this hellhole they called school. Isabelle sighed as she walked down the halls of Idris High for the first time after the long and relaxing summer break. She missed summer already. All she did was kick back, get a tan, and organize parties.

"Hey Izzy!" Isabelle turned around to see her best friend Clary.

"Hey Clary? You ready for the first day back?" Isabelle said, happy to see her friend in the mess of people going to their lockers.

"Yes! I have my sketchbook and everything!" Clary took out her sketchbook to show Isabelle. But Isabelle was no longer paying any attention. She was staring at a guy strutting down the halls in a T-shirt that read, "Save animals, drink humans." He had ruffled brown hair and glasses. He caught Isabelle looking at him and winked.

"Hello? Earth to Izzy?"Clary said as she waved her hands in Isabelle's face trying to get her to pay attention.

"Sorry, what?" Isabelle said snapping back to reality. Clary glanced behind her and saw the new guy. She turned back and gave Isabelle a sly grin.

"Got a crush on the new kid, Izzy?" Clary said hitting Isabelle with her elbow.

"What? No. He's not my type," Isabelle said trying to explain to Clary. More or less though she was trying to explain it to herself. She didn't got for guys like him. She was out of his league. She looked back to see if he had left. Surely enough, he was gone.

The bell rang and the other students by their lockers walked to their first class. Isabelle left Clary's side and walked over to her own locker to get her books. As she was walking to her first class, she bumped into someone.

"Hey watch where you're-" she started to say as she looked up into the eyes of the new guy. He started helping her pick up her books.

"Sorry, guess I wasn't watching where I was going," he said with a smile. "MY name's Simon."

"Hello Simon, I'm Isabelle, but some of my friends call me Izzy," Isabelle said. Well I only have have one friend.. She thought.

"Hi, Izzy it's nice to meet you. Now can you point me to where.." He looked at his map. His glasses slid down his nose, close to falling off. When Simon looked back up, he pushed the glasses back. "...the Biology room is?"

"Oh! I'm going there right now. I''ll show you," Isabelle replied.

"So," Simon said as they started walking, "What goes on around here?"

"Well.. it's sorta boring here to be honest. After school is when things get really fun. I organize most of the parties and dances and that kind of thing. You need a party organizer and I'm your girl."

"I'll keep that in mind," he said with a lopsided grin. What was he doing? She couldn't like him. She had a reputation to uphold.

"Here we are," She said to him, stopping at the big brown doors that were marked as room 201.

"Thanks. I was wondering..." he paused and looked into her eyes. Oh no. What is he going to say? He better not be asking me out on a date. She thought, even though a small part of her was hoping he would. "...Do you want to maybe go to the Lake this afternoon with me? I was hoping we could hang back and relax." he finished with a smile. Does he mean like a date? Should I say yes?

"Sure!" Isabelle said before she could stop the words from falling out of her mouth. She hoped it didn't make her sound desperate.

"Okay I'll see you tonight. Meet me by the big oak tree." Simon smiled and he held the door open for her as they walked into the classroom.
