Dan and Phil had been best friends for 7 years..well 8 years today, Phil had made his life so much better. He had introduced to him to YouTube, he'd met new people, they had had their own radio show,tour and even made a book. Not to mention Phil in general. He was what made life worth living for Dan.

My only sunshine

The thing is, Dan hadn't had a best friend for the first 18 years of his life, so to find someone as nice as Phil was a miracle. He was funny, easy to talk to and they shared the same interests. Not to mention that he was beautiful, he was almost luminous. It's like every time he would walked in his smile lightened up the room, making everyone happy, especially Dan. It didn't matter what mood Phil was in, he would make sure his friends, fans and family were always happy.

You make me happy when skies are grey

Phil always knew how to cheer Dan up, even on the darkest of days. He would say the right things, let him vent out, and support him through it all. He'd put Dan before himself, he couldn't thank him for being there enough. There really was no one like him.

You'll never know just how much I love you

The problem is he loved Phil too much, too much to admit. It was too late. Dan couldn't say any of this to Phil, and he would never know just how much he meant to Dan, how much Dan loved him. Dan was too lateand now he woukd never get to see him again.

Please don't take my sunshine away

Because Dan couldn't protect him. Everything they'd ever made together. Destroyed. And Dan couldn't do this on his own. Not without Phil. Not without his ray of sunshine, the only thing that made his life worth living.
