A/N: This is like, my 8th one-shot this week, and I've got outlines for two more. In addition, I'm halfway done with chapter two of Liar Liar. This is, believe it or not, another challenge for Kitty East! Haha.
Disclaimer: If I owned Harry Potter, Sirius would've had a girlfriend.
Hold My Beer
"Oy, mate, hold this," Sirius said, handing James his cup of beer. There was a huge affair in Hogsmeade for all of the sixth and seventh year students at Hogwarts, and a few Muggleborns had smuggled in some Muggle beer, since it was stronger than Firewhiskey.
"Why?" James asked, taking the plastic cup from Sirius. Sirius winked.
"Look at her—over there," Sirius pointed to a blonde girl who was a year older than he was.
"She's out of your league," Remus laughed, patting Sirius on the back.
"Nobody's too good for me," Sirius grinned.
"Wait. What does this have to do with James holding your beer?" Peter asked
"I can't talk up a girl with one hand," Sirius said as if the answer were obvious.
"Then by all means," Remus said. "Carry on."
"I think I will," Sirius said. He proceeded to walk over to the blonde, and within moments, she was giggling and laughing as if she liked Sirius.
Ten minutes later, Sirius was back. "What a bore. Where's my drink?"
"Peter happened."
"Doesn't it figure," Sirius grimaced. He poured himself another glass of beer and proceeded to drink it. About halfway through the glass, he looked up at James. "What's up with you, mate?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you're just sitting here all drunk and whatnot, and I'm snogging hot girls."
"That means nothing."
"What do you mean?!" Sirius asked, clearly affronted. "Girls are my life."
"I can't just hit on girls, Sirius. That's where you and I are different."
"Mate, you're crazy," Sirius said, chugging his beer. "Damn, isn't someone looking good this year?"
"Oh, God."
"Mate, hold this," Sirius said. "Maggie Bell is looking pretty nice."
"Anything you want, Sirius," James said, taking the drink and sitting down.
--
"What's wrong with you?" James asked Sirius the next year. The sixth and seventh year party was still invaded with Muggle beer, but Sirius wasn't asking anybody to hold it.
"All these girls are old news," Sirius said dejectedly. "I've shagged at least half of them."
"Padfoot, that was a mental picture that I really didn't need."
"Well, how about you? You still haven't been looking too at these parties. Get yourself going, mate. Someday, you'll want a lady living in your house."
"As oppose to you?" James asked Sirius jokingly.
"…Yeah, I guess," Sirius laughed.
"If you can find a decent girl, I'll find one."
"Alright. What about her? Does she count as 'decent'?" Sirius asked, pointing at a redheaded girl slow dancing with Lupin. Her skin was a gorgeous peach tone, and when Remus twirled her, James caught a glimpse of the most beautiful green eyes he had ever seen in his life.
"Who is that?"
"That, my friend, is Lily Evans. Muggleborn, top of her classes, and very good friends with Moony there."
"Lily Evans," James repeated. "Lily Evans. Lily… Potter."
"So, you gonna go make a move?"
"Padfoot, hold my beer."
A/N: Yeah, I'm just like, belting out these one-shots. Like I'm Steven King or someone. Haha.
Well, Review? Thanks [:
Love,
Sinead
