Chapter 1
The problem facing Sakura was that she was so very comfortable. Think like sinking down into warm waters type of bliss. The blanket wrapped around her was just right, the cup of warm tea in her hands smelled delicious, and for once she didn't feel like she had a crick in her neck. However, she had neglected to turn the television on before subjecting herself to such comfortable measures.
Realization dawned on her like slow molasses of thought, fuzzy around the edges of her repose. She glanced down at her body, then up to the blank television screen with disparity. This was quite the conundrum. Turning her head to look at the other arm of the couch, where the remote control was, then up past the couch where Naruto sat at his desk playing a computer game, Sakura thought of a very pathetic sounding favor.
"Hey Naruto," she started bashfully. Her face dipped down into the folds of her blanket as he turned one blue eye onto her for a moment to show he was listening, "I hate to ask, but I'm really comfy and all, so I was wondering…"
At her tone, the blonde paused his game and swiveled his desk chair around to survey his girlfriend with a raised eyebrow and a curious smile, "What is it you need?"
His sweet attitude only served to make Sakura feel more ridiculous about the request she wanted to make, and her face buried itself further into her blanket. Muffled by the fabric, she still managed to audibly ask, "Can you hand me the remote?"
Blanking for a moment, Naruto's brows furrowed and he made a questioning tone. Her answer was to glance slightly as the remote sitting closer to him than to her, then back up to his face. He blinked ridiculously a few times, then stated, "You want the remote."
The longer the conversation went, the more embarrassed Sakura was feeling about asking. She started to get up, saying to herself more than Naruto, "You know what, I'm dumb, I can just get it." But as she began to twist her body around to place her mug down on the end table, she felt a hand to her shoulder followed by a kiss on her forehead.
"Here," Naruto's voice rumbled, and the remote was dropped onto her lap. Gaping at it a moment before removing one hand from her tea to pick it up, she let a smile come to her face, "You're welcome."
Her face tinted itself a pink akin to her hair as she clicked the power button and the TV lit up, "Thank you." Her voice had been so timid she thought he hadn't heard her, except when she snuck a glance away from the television, Sakura found her boyfriend with an endearing smile on his face as he watched her, "Why are you staring at me?"
As his smile widened, the whiskered lines on his face blending with the apples of his cheeks, Naruto stated, "You're just so cute."
"I'm not-" the girl started fiercely, but ended her sentence in a wimpy, "-cute…" The pinking of her cheeks was become a reddening that Naruto responded to with a laugh and turning back to his computer. "I'm not cute," she retorted.
-End-
A/N: I plan to write a couple short things like this. All stories are based on real events taken place between me and my real life Naruto. Spreading the love around despite the ending. Viva la NaruSaku!
