Underneath a tree, shaded by green leaves, sat a boy with bowl-cut hair and round glasses. He was sitting alone, munching on his favorite cookies, while thinking about a girl who he thought was certainly sweeter than the snack he was eating.

Candy

The most wonderful girl in the world, in his eyes. His thoughts were clouded by her smiling face, the memory of the smell of her perfume, and wishes to have her here with him now. What he wouldn't give to just be next to her, having her grace him with her presence. He sighed.

Meanwhile, shiny, smooth locks bounced as a certain girl skipped through the school-yard, a content grin on her face. She glanced to her right, then stopped entirely when she noticed Ken sitting by himself under the biggest tree on the perimeter of the school. He seemed to be thinking. That meant he might be distracted. A coy smile curled Candy's lips as she stealthily made her way towards, then behind, the trunk of the tree.

Ken finished one cookie, then reached into the roll for another. As he placed this confection between his lips, his ears picked up whisper right beside his head.

"Guess who?" The voice giggled. Startled, Ken whipped his head around and nearly fell backwards onto the grass beside him. The only reason he didn't hit the ground was because Candy reached out and gripped his shoulder.

"Hey, I didn't scare you that bad, did I?" The girl questioned, her puzzlement evident in her eyes. Ken then noticed how close she was to him, which made it hard to alleviate her confusion, as he could barely think of anything other than 'Candy, Candy, Candy!' He somehow managed to find the words when she started to move back a little bit.

"N-no, I'm fine." Ken noticed how, even after she was no longer a few inches, his face still felt hot.

"Your face is red." Candy lilted with concern. The heat on Ken's freckled face multiplied as the softness of Candy's hand made contact with his forehead.

"You're burning up!" Candy stated, her eyes widening. Ken hurriedly waved his arms around.

"No no I'm fine really!" His words rushed out of his mouth.

"I just, um, uh…" He took notice of the cookie that had fallen out of his mouth.

"I'm upset that I dropped my cookie!" He blurted out, and put on his widest grin. Candy looked at him a little strangely.

"O-kay?" After her response, Ken hurriedly sat back against the tree, trying to pretend he didn't just make himself sound stupid. What he didn't notice was Candy still watching him. He also didn't notice the look of realization on her face, then the small smile and blush that formed on her face.

Ken had scrunched his eyes shut, reprimanding himself mentally, when he felt something brush against his face. He opened his eyes and his heart stopped. Candy's face was only a few centimeters away from his, her lips brushing against his as she nibbled on the other end of the chocolate cookie. Her eyes were closed, and he could count each long, black lashes that rested against her lovely skin. He thought he was about to die of a heart attack when this took place, but he was sure he was already dead and had ended up in heaven when Candy pressed her plump lips firmly against his mouth.

After what felt like eternity in less than 10 seconds, Candy slowly pulled away, and Ken watched her eat half of the cookie. He felt ethereal, as though he was amongst clouds, light and weightless. Then he went in for another kiss. Underneath a tree, shaded by green leaves, sat a boy and a girl, sharing sweet kisses.
