Behind the Gears of War Studio
Part 1
Narrator: It was near the end of 2006 when the highly credited video game, Gears of War, came into the hands of geeks and gamers of the United states. The game was highly special because of its chainsaw bayonet and its on-line capabilities, But it will soon go far more than that.
Dominic Santiago: Late 2006 was the year for Delta squad man. I was sitting in the CD at Gamestop and all the people outside the store was like "Gears of War, Gears of War, Gears of War!!" and I was like "Man!!" The store wasn't even open yet and they camped out there for like a week and they smelled like garbage and alcohol. I was in the first copy ever sold.
Marcus Fenix: Well, it wasn't all that great some dirty crap-bags took us home to a place that smelled worst than them and Baird of copy 2284 was laughing at me until he was bought by a 9 year old who eventually broke his CD in half.
Narrator: Then the gaming was on. People soon got all the achievements for the game and the servers were stacked with players. Until World of Warcraft started pluck away people away from the game.
Augustus Cole: When I heard the news that WOW was starting to lower our on-line players, I was like "Hey I want to play too!" and that is the story on how I got my level 70 Tauren Shaman.
Damon Baird: Well I had a serious problem with World of Warcraft taking our players so one time I sent Blizzard a whole bunch of hate mails and when I went to the Bar to get a drink they jumped me, kicked me in mud, and urinated on me (sniffle), It was hard for me to heal those wounds.
Narrator: After the incident Epic games soon sued Blizzard for assault but lost the case. The case was never released out into the public. But they had a bigger problem on their hands. The artist who created the music for the Gears of War commercial Gary Jules, figured out that Epic games used his music without his permission and then sued the company.
Marcus Fenix: I was in that commercial and I did not know that when we were filming and i thought it sounded cool.
the Corpser that was in the commercial: Wow I did not know about that until just now and I am surprised that they didn't tell us that.
Narrator: Gary Jules then called off his charges because he thought the music sounded cool on the commercial. This has been Inside the Gears of War studio and keep checking in for Inside the Gears of War studio Part 2 and good night.
