The Bell Still Tolls

A somewhat creepy poem that I wrote during religion today. It stands as the point of view for anyone, I guess. It's rather ambigous in terms of time and character, but it fits Roy and Riza to my liking, and I do love Royai.

A/N: I see this as kind of an ep. 51 poem, but not really. I guess it also works in the manga, too.

Not the Spanish poem mentioned on my profile. Evidently, we're not going to get to the lesson I need to take for a month at least, so that is on hold until summer. So, without further ado, here is the Royai poem written during religion!

I only wanted to protect you.

I didn't know how hard it would be.

I didn't see this coming.

The first bell tolls.

And the second, the third, the fourth,

And I try to explain, to justify

But no words come.

Five, six, and seven pass,

And I still can't say a word,

Though we're hurting inside

And I want nothing more than to be a comfort.

Eight and nine

And I'm still waiting, standing, crying.

Time goes on and on

Even though I do all I can to stop it

So you can jump back in where you left off.

Ten.

Eleven.

Desperation comes in a deluge.

Hands reach for you as I watch,

Stunned and unable

Screaming and crying

Begging and pleading

Endlessly wondering

Praying like I never have before.

It seems like I can't do enough

Even though you're standing here beside me at the

Twelfth and final toll

As time goes on.
